According to producer Andrew Loog Oldham, the title of the movie came from the fact that during filming the camera seemed to favor Charlie Watts over the other Stones.
Shot in 1965 during the Stones' tour of Ireland, only received spotty release in 1966 before being withdrawn, has seldom been seen since then. It finally received a wide television and video release in 2012 as The Rolling Stones: Charlie Is My Darling - Ireland 1965 (2012)
