Spoof gangster movie co-produced by Italy/Spain and mostly shot in Barcelona and Madrid

This is a pretty amusing entry on Franco and Ciccio series that contains slapstick , slapdash , simple humor and lots of entertainment and fun ; both of whom played a lots of films parodying all kinds of genres . It deals with Franco (overacting by means of excessive mimic gesticulation) and Ciccio , two botcher , inept police officers from New York who get to detain a powerful mobster . Then , they are suddenly promoted and sent to Chicago to imprison some gangsters as Tony (Jesús Puente) , Messina (Frank Braña) and Joe Minasi (the Hollywood secondary and regular in baddie roles : Marc Lawrence) . Later on , Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia infiltrate in Al Capone's gang . Thanks to the help of a local policeman and a lot of luck they arrange to do just fine but when they are trying to arrest the band , though no reinforcements come . Meanwhile , they attempt to marry their sweethearts : Rosalía (Moira Orfei) and Santuzza (Angela Luce) . And at the end they get married .

The film is a Franco Franchi-Ciccio Ingrassia recital , as they dance , sing , stooges , make acrobatics , tongue twister and put faces and grimaces . Lots of gags and sketches , some of them funny but in the movie lacks a real freshness . Parody movie with a myriad of silly and unimaginative gags , though it has its good moments here and there . This is a disconcerting and amusing farce with the master comedy actors and it displays much fights , punches , choreography and hilarious musical numbers such as Franco Franchi dancing and imitating Rodolfo Valentino . Picture is a Franco Franchi-Ciccio Ingrassia vehicle , and many consider their best comedy , they are authentic comedians and real farceurs . If you like their crazy interpretation , you will most definitely enjoy this one . It is a Spanish/Italian co-production , that's why it appears several Spanish players such as Frank Braña as a gangster , the character actor Jesús Puente and special mention for José Calvo as Capone , he's customary actor of co-productions during the 60 and 70s , and specially known as ¨Silvanito¨ in the classic Spaghetti ¨For a fistful of dollars¨.

The motion picture was regularly directed by Giorgo Simonelli . He directed various films for this popular couple Franco Franchi-Ciccio Ingrassia , such as : ¨Il Duo Sanculotti¨. ¨Due Sargenti de Generale Custer¨ , "The Two Crazy Secret Agents" ¨, ¨Due Mafiosi Far West¨ , "I due toreri" , "Two Sons of Ringo" , ¨2 Samurai Per 100 Geishas¨ . Simonelli also made adventure movies as ¨Robin Hood and the pirates¨ with Lex Barker , ¨Fra Diavolo¨, "Io Sono la Primula Rossa" , Péplum as "Ursus in the Land of Fire" , dramas and a lot of comedies , many of them starred by the comical couple Ugo Tognazzi and Walter Chiari
