It's hard to believe this early example of the German sex comedies that became kino staples in the early 70s got an English language release, but here it is. Simply titled Angel Baby for the American market, it's an innocuous blend of comedy (almost all of which is flat and unfunny) and attractive 60s college madchen. Fans of groovy 60s cinema will appreciate the fashions on display, and the music, while repetitive, is pretty good. If you're wondering about the song that one of the characters hypes as the next big thing, it's No More Waiting by The Speeders.

A young and naive Munich girl uses to fall in love with several playboys and is disappointed by all of them. A dumb German love comedy from 1967 with a young Gila von Weitershausen and some very groovy instrumental hammond organ beats as incidental music. This might have been a shocking movie to some spectators in 1967 but is only boring to watch today.

I didn't mind the dumb concept of a 19 year old virgin traveling to the big city to lose her virginity but one thing stood out for me. They cast Gila von Weitershausen as Katja and while I do believe she's a very attractive actress, if the film were being made by myself I would have gotten a real beautiful nymphet to be the lead. Remember the film "Candy"? Say what you want about it but they did the right thing getting Ewa Aulin because she was really hot! They needed another "Little Annie Fannie" type who is really beautiful and practically falling out of her clothes. Now you have a movie! And get better music for gods sake. That annoying song that was played over and over by some group called the Speeders. This film is badly dated and I never understood why all the idiot men refused to have sex with Katja after they learned she was a virgin. If someone knows why let me know.
