Enjoyable and charming family movie about a little boy who wishes to travel to America
ma-cortes21 February 2021
An orphan shepherd living with his uncle : Xan Das Bolas, attempts to travel to America, but things go awry, as his dog is run over by a car and his sheep is taken by a circus to serve as tiger food. The shepherd boy feels really alone in the world, as he decides to travel to America to find a job and meet her friend's : Nuria Gimeno fiance : Manuel Gil.

Attractive and agreeable film with good feeling, moral values and high sensibility . It follows the wake of the religious genre very popular in the 40s and 50s, in fact it has certain likeness to the famous movie Marcelino Pan y Vino. At the same time it deals with friendship among a little boy and his dog, a sheep and a young worker : Manuel Gil. Here stands out the sympathetic and naive little boy giving a very likable acting. Being accompanied by a fine support cast such as : Narciso Ibañez Menta as a street salesman who sells to our starring an alleged magic flute, Xan Das Bolas as his ambitious uncle, Santiago Rivero as the American Ambassador, Manuel Gil , Angel Alvarez, among others.

This unknown film was well shot by Amando de Ossorio. This craftsman director was a Horror expert, though he wrote/directed all kinds of genres. As Amando made Monster movie : Serpent of the sea. Spaghetti/Paella Western: Tomb of the pistolero, Rebels in Canada. Historical : Los Cantabros. And terror : the successful Templar Dead quartet formed by Tombs of the Blind dead, Return of the Evil Dead, The Ghost Galleon, Night of the Seagulls, besides : Night of the Sorcerers, Malenka, Witch Child, Claws of Lorelei, among others.
