Demi Moore teased details of her role in Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Paramount+ drama Landman and revealed she expects to be back on set for a second season in early 2025.
“It’s a very interesting world in the boomtown of Fort Worth, Texas. It’s kind of this subculture that we haven’t seen before, which is what I think Taylor does so well,” said Moore, in a talk at the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday.
“I play an oil tycoon’s wife… lots of nice clothes. The substance of it is really exploring the issues around oil, petroleum, on all sides…and then of course there’s – as Taylor does so well – there’s delicious drama within and family dynamics.”
Other cast members include Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Hamm as rival oil tycoons, with Hamm playing Moore’s husband.

That sweet and innocent-looking friendly neighborhood Spider-Man guy from Marvel, who rampaged about spilling spoilers during interviews out of excitement, seems to be gone now. Looking at Tom Holland in the latest look for his Romeo & Juliet play seems a lot different than his usual happy-go-lucky ones. In fact, he feels completely different after witnessing him with his on-stage love interest for the play, Francesca Amewudah-Rivers.
Tom Holland in a still from The Devil All The Time.
However, fans aren’t clamoring in support of this duo, especially for their pairing up for the stage as the iconic couple from Shakespeare’s lore. This comes after the first look images of Holland and Amewudah-Rivers as their respective characters were released, which, unarguably, have been garnering quite a bit of sarcastic and terribly negative reviews and backlash from fans.

Holland Taylor and Ana Villafañe will star in the Off Broadway world premiere of Mario Correa’s new play N/A this summer, playing congresswomen of different generations in a production directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus.
Taylor will play “N,” the first woman Speaker of the House, and Villafañe will portray “A,” the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. The play is described as being inspired by real people and events, and although producers did not name names the descriptions more-than-strongly suggest Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Here’s the synopsis: “When melancholic construction worker Dan finds himself drifting from his wife and daughter, he discovers community and purpose in a local theater’s production of Romeo and Juliet. As the drama onstage starts to mirror his own life, he and his family are forced to confront a personal loss.”
John Fink said in his review, “A masterfully crafted work with nearly no false notes, Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson’s Ghostlight is a tender drama bearing profound moments of humor and small triumphs. The smartly constructed script by O’Sullivan buries the lede, revealing new narrative information with each layer as...

When Chicago-based filmmakers Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson first came across our radar with their charming “Saint Frances,” it was clear we were witnessing the birth of a powerhouse pair of indie filmmakers. Even in that first film, which marked Thompson’s feature directorial debut and that O’Sullivan both wrote and starred in, what would become their signature was obvious: a canny combination of heart and humor that go beyond basic loglines.
“Saint Frances” was eventually nominated for three Gotham Awards and the Indie Spirits’ vaunted John Cassavetes Award, and when chatting with IndieWire about their delightful gem, the pair even admitted that simple plotlines don’t quite do their works justice. “Saint Frances” comes with what seems like a downer of a description: “After an accidental pregnancy turned abortion, a deadbeat nanny finds an unlikely friendship with the 6-year-old she’s charged with protecting.” As the duo told...

Actress Zendaya and Tom Holland have reportedly been discussing marriage, according to a source. “There has been talk of marriage, and that is a reality,” a source told people.com.
The two met while filming their trilogy of Spider-Man movies together. Since then, they’ve kept their off-camera romance private.
“They are not the kind of stars who put their lives out there on social media for the most part,” explained the source.
“Both are private,” said the source, who added that the attention on them while in the public eye “has never been easy or comfortable for either of them.”
Zendaya’s film ‘Challengers’ is set to release, and Holland, who stars in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ on London’s West End in May.
“Work is important to both, and that keeps them busy now,” added the source.

‘Tis the Broadway season of reinvention. Shaina Taub smartly retooled half of Suffs’s score since its off-Broadway premiere in 2022, allowing her jam-packed historical musical to shed some weight and soar. Branden Jacobs-Jenkins revisited the text of his 2014 play Appropriate, his subtle, meaningful edits transforming the work into a monster hit on Broadway. But he had a decade to do so and the play was already great.
Not so great, in contrast, was The Great Gatsby’s inauspicious world premiere at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, last October. Crafted initially as an international commission intended to be performed in translation for South Korean audiences, The Great Gatsby’s first soiree was kind of like the man himself, an impotent facsimile hiding behind pretty faces and loud voices. Even the gilded sets wobbled in New Jersey.
A hasty Broadway transfer was commercially understandable in a competitive landscape but artistically insane.

For as long as “teenager” has been a demographic, there have been stories about teens breaking free from the status quo. While a lot of the modern great teen rebellion media is confined to the world of TV — where shows like “Euphoria” attract constant buzz — the archetypal troubled teen story remains 1955’s “Rebel Without a Cause.” Starring James Dean in unquestionably his defining role, a rebellious teen struggling with his demons in L.A., Nicholas Ray’s film spoke to young people at the time with its story of high schoolers struggling with, and going against, the social pressures that bring them down. Over the years it became a touchstone because its themes and its honesty transcends generations.
As the teen film has evolved and morphed as a genre, there’s always been room for stories of iconoclastic youth who don’t fit in with the status quo. Oftentimes, these...

It has been known for a while that the new West End production of William Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, will be returning to the Duke of York’s Theatre from May 11 through August 3, with Jamie Lloyd directing. But, more importantly for some fans, it has been confirmed that Spider-Man star Tom Holland will be playing Romeo in the play, with Bad Education star Francesca Amewudah-Rivers co-starring as Juliet. And while all of this seems fine and dandy to us, some people are dissatisfied with the fact that Juliet will be played by a black actress and have taken to the Internet to express their anger in the most deplorable way.
The young actress has, thus, been the target of significant racial slander and abuse recently, which is an act that has to be condemned immediately. The producers, as well as some of Rivers’ colleagues, were quick to react,...

Madonna‘s had an impressive array of No. 1 songs, but she’s also had something rarer: an impressive array of No. 2 songs. Some of her defining hits just missed the top spot. Here’s a nostalgic look back at some of the Queen Pop’s best musical (and music video) moments.
1. ‘Material Girl’
Considering “Material Girl”‘s great new wave beat and iconic music video inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, it would have been a hit regardless of its lyrics. The song is a cute satire of Reagan-era values that’s light enough to be taken at face value. Because some listeners did take it at face value, the song has been used to paint Madonna as shallow and greedy.
The track hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. While the charts are never fair, that placement feels like a real insult. After all, what song...

Nechama meets a not-too-promising date, in the romantic comedy Matchmaking. Courtesy of Israeli Films
Matchmaking, one of the best comedies at this year’s St. Louis Jewish Film Festival, is a romantic comedy about a young Orthodox Jewish who seems to have everything a family could want in a match – good family, good grades, good looks – but who is pining for a girl who, on paper, does not match up.
Yeshiva student Moti Bernstein (Amit Rahav) is a good student and obedient son from a respected Israeli Ashkenazi Jewish family who has reached the age to start looking for a wife. Moti is a catch who has it all – handsome, smart, tall, from a good Ashkenazi family – everything any matchmaker or Orthodox family would want. As an A-list candidate in the books of Orthodox matchmaking, Moti is a guy who should have his pick of any girl he wants for a bride.

Tom Holland rose to international recognition with his portrayal of Peter Parker, a.k.a., Spider-Man, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with Captain America: Civil War. The audience’s perception of the actor has been solidified with his standalone movies, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home. There is no doubt that he is indeed one of the finest young actors in the entertainment industry currently.
The English actor has also been a part of movies, including Uncharted, The Devil All the Time, and Cherry. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Holland’s performance and dedication to the Apple TV+ miniseries The Crowded Room was appreciated by the fans. The actor is now looking forward to returning to stage, performing one of the most beloved characters of William Shakespeare, and giving Leonardo DiCaprio a tough competition for its title.

Two years later, the police found the footage we’re about to see…
The footage starts innocently enough, as we watch Gordy (Warren McCook; Hope Street) go through his day as a student at Mid Ulster College of Art. Taylor Swift‘s “Love Story” is the best country love song of the 2000s, if not the best country love song ever written. Surprisingly, it was inspired by a romance that never got off of the ground. The tune includes references to two classic works of literature. One of these references doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Love Story’ has a nonsensical reference to ‘The Scarlet Letter’
During a 2009 interview with Time, Swift discussed the origin of “Love Story.” “‘Love Story’ is actually about a guy that I almost dated,” he said. “But when I introduced him to my family and my friends, they all said they didn’t like him. All of them!
“For the first time, I could relate to that Romeo-and-Juliet situation where the only people who wanted them to be together were them,” she said. “That’s the most romantic song I’ve written,...

The Hindi film industry has time and again celebrated Holi onscreen be it in films or the songs, which have encapsulated the feeling of fun and romance. Since the festival of colours is just around the corner, what better way to extend the fun by watching films after immersing in the spirit of the festival.
Here are a list of films that can make your Holi even more special:
‘Silsila’: The film is a romantic drama directed by Yash Chopra. Its theme revolves around the love triangle and extramarital affair. What makes it a great Holi watch is the song ‘Rang Barse’ picturised on Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. The song is full of colours.
‘Sholay’: Be it the iconic dialogue ‘Holi kab hai, kab hai holi’ or the song ‘Holi Ki Din Dil Khil Jate Hai’ picturised on Dharmendra and Hema Malini, the film sits well for cinephiles on the occasion.

A masterfully crafted work with nearly no false notes, Kelly O’Sullivan and Alex Thompson’s Ghostlight is a tender drama bearing profound moments of humor and small triumphs. The smartly constructed script by O’Sullivan buries the lede, revealing new narrative information with each layer as we watch a nuclear family slowly come apart and, later, find solace in the wake of their son’s suicide. Anchored by a real-life family, the film feels as if it’s been meticulously workshopped with the same intimate collaboration that gave O’Sullivan and Thompson’s last feature, Saint Frances, its authentic nuances.

Starcrossed lovers have been popular since Shakespeare's day, and Days of Our Lives offers many.
They even had Ben and Ciara play Romeo and Juliet once (something most fans would like to forget!) Now, it's Tate and Holly's turn, and fortunately, it'll be the usual soap opera trope and not another re-rendition of the play.
According to spoilers for Days of Our Lives during the week of 3-11-24, Tate'll sneak into Holly's room... and as you might guess, Ej isn't too happy about it.
Tate's determined to get Holly to remember that he didn't give her the drugs.
He refused to take a guilty plea and is supposed to be in a halfway house while he awaits trial -- does he escape to talk to Holly in person?
That would be a terrible idea.

Before praising the 2024 Oscars and their approach to sex, we need to acknowledge one truth. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences completely ignored one of the best movies of the year, and a movie that features one of the most frank and vulnerable sexual scenes committed to film. It, of course, involves a bathtub, where one man’s desire for another becomes clear in a way that not even he had heretofore acknowledged.
What? No, not Saltburn. I said a good movie, not a loud nothing that approaches sex like a 12-year-old who just learned a few rude words.
I’m referring to the beautiful Andrew Haigh film All of Us Strangers, which received no Oscar attention, not even for its outstanding leads Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal. The scene in question occurs after screenwriter Adam (Scott) returns from his parents’ home, where he just came out to his mother,...

It was in 2018 when one of Bollywood’s most loved couples, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, got married. On Thursday morning, they announced on Instagram that they’re expecting their first child. How their love story took off is one of the most interesting facets of their storied relationship.
The star couple, who got married at Lake Como, Italy, fell in love during the shoot of their first film together, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ adaptation, ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’, which was released in 2013.
It was on ‘Koffee With Karan’ that Ranveer and Deepika, who had been tight-lipped about their relationship before marriage, spilled the beans about how the chemistry brewed between the two.
When the show’s host, Karan Johar, asked Ranveer if he had walked onto the film’s sets thinking that Deepika was going to be a part of his life, he said “no” instantaneously.

Coming off an installment heavy on relating the latest mystery to Colter's personal life, this hour gave his family drama a rest in favor of an old-fashioned mystery.
Tracker Season 1 Episode 3 found Colter in a small lakeside town where everyone was Very upset about the possibility of something terrible happening to someone when there are future timeshares to be sold!
It was bad luck for them that Colter found himself in the right place at the right time.
While the pilot posed the question about Colter's job and whether or not he was merely just a mercenary or someone who cared about the cases he took, the first two hours have done a lot to show that Colter isn't someone only taking cases for a paycheck.
He's got a tremendous amount of knowledge and understanding, especially regarding the great outdoors, which aids him in his pursuit of missing people.
