George Peppard was considered to replace Pete Duel--his co-star in this film-- in the series Alias Smith and Jones (1971) when Duel died after the second season., but the show was canceled.
Just after Pete Duel's character is released from jail, he places a gun to his head and pulls the trigger. A year after this film was released, Duel would commit suicide in this manner.
