The second game in the WarioWare series to be released on the Switch, following 2021’s WarioWare: Get It Together!, WarioWare: Move It! is a successor to WarioWare: Smooth Moves. And it plays like an extended version of the bonus stage from Smooth Moves that prompted you to increase the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome by both using the Wii’s Wiimote and Nunchuk controllers. Here, though, both of the Switch’s Joy-Cons—and, as such, both of your hands—are required for every miniature task that’s thrown your way.
Considering the dearth of new ideas that Move It! brings to the table, you may recognize rather quickly that there wasn’t a whole lot of terrain worth covering with this conceit the first time around. For starters, there are several “forms” (different positions that players take to complete microgames) that have been wholesale recycled from Smooth Moves. Take “Tug-of-War,...

Carl Franklin’s brilliantly dark breakout, the 1992 indie “One False Move,” is now out in a new 4k edition from Criterion Channel.
Franklin talked to TheWrap about why it was so important to show the “emotional” violence of the opening scenes, even though it had scores of people, and his his own agent, walking out of screenings.
He also discussed landing the late Bill Paxton, his first choice for the lead role of the naïve small-town sheriff, Dale “Hurricane” Dixon, and how audiences were “legitimately frightened” of Michael Beach’s serial killer character.
Bill Paxton in “One False Move” (Criterion Channel)

The series has been added to the list, which allows production to continue filming, despite the ongoing actors strike. See the updated full list below.
Other high-profile movies such as Dakton Fanning-fronted The Watchers and Sam Raimi-produced Don’t Move have also been granted waivers, as has hit faith series The Chosen.

The series was created by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden and Maor Kohn and is produced by Donna and Shula Productions, which was formed by Eden and Shula Spiegel. It initially aired on Israeli network Kan 11. Cineflix...

After granting its first round of waivers for several films Tuesday, SAG-AFTRA has given another group of films permission to shoot during the strike including Ishana Night Shyamalan’s The Watchers, starring Dakota Fanning, and the Sam Raimi-produced Don’t Move. See the updated list below.
What makes The Watchers an interesting case is that while New Line is on board to distribute, the film was a negative pickup, and sources say what helped it get the waiver is that the distribution deal had not been signed yet. therefore making it an indie shoot with independent financing. The studio will have nothing to do with the project until a deal is signed, which would not happen until a strike is resolved.

The racism in Carl Franklin’s One False Move suggests a festering pool of standing water just waiting to be disturbed. Dale Dixon (Bill Paxton), the police chief of Star City, Arkansas, casually utters the n-word while having a peaceful meal with his colleagues, one of whom is Black. Lila Walker (Cynda Williams), the mixed-race outlaw trying to avoid capture in order to see her son again, understands American inequality all too well: “Looking guilty is being guilty, for Black people,” she tells her brother. Having recently shot a white Texas state trooper in the head at point blank range, the irony of her statement is hard to miss. But that doesn’t mean she’s wrong.
Released days after the 1992 Los Angeles riots, One False Move offers a particularly prescient reflection of regional division and segregation. It sees violence as the common denominator between blue and red states, a...

Maren Morris made history Saturday night in New York City when she became the first country music artist to receive GLAAD’s excellence in media award.
During the 34th annual GLAAD Media Awards, the Grammy-winning performer was presented with the honor by Cynthia Lee Fontaine and Alyssa Edwards.
“I felt a little badass taking on Tucker Carlson for calling me a lunatic for standing up to transphobia,” Morris told the crowd while holding her trophy. “Maybe I did feel a little cool. But I don’t want to gloat. I would never insult the recently unemployed.”
The New York Hilton Midtown ballroom erupted in hoots and loud applause that made the “My Church” singer pause and smile.
The LGBTQ+ supporter famously had a war of words with the recently terminated Fox News personality when he dubbed her a “lunatic” and a “fake country music singer” during an interview with Brittany Aldean in August.

Opening for herself, Queen Bey kicked off the marathon, three-hour show by performing a series of ballads, including “Dangerously in Love,” “Flaws and All,” “1+1,” and “I Care.” After a brief intermission, Beyoncé launched into the Renaissance portion of her set, as she showcased her latest album with performances of “I’m That Girl,” “Cozy,” “Alien Superstar,” Cuff It,” “Energy,” and “Break My Soul.”
Video interludes broke the set into themed sections dubbed “Renaissance,” “Motherboard,” “Opulence,” Anointed,” and “Mind Control.” After debuting songs from her latest record, Beyoncé used “Opulence” to dig into her back catalog with “Formation,” “Run the World (Girls), “Black Parade,” and “Partition,” as well as her remix of Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage.

It’s guessing time on “The Masked Singer” as the judges try to figure out who is Doll on this week’s episode. And in keeping with this week’s special movie night-themed episode, Ken Jeong once again takes a huge swing with his guess that Doll is Elvis. Or rather, the actor who most recently played The King in a movie.
You can watch TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek of the episode in the video above and see everyone’s reactions to Jeong’s guess. (Booing. Lots of booing.)
In the clip, Jeong reprises Leslie Chow, his character from “The Hangover” trilogy as he explains why he believes the Doll is “Elvis” star and Golden Globe-winner Austin Butler.
“Real talk, the doll is Austin Butler, and I’ll tell you why,” Jeong says over disbelieving laughter and boos from everyone else. “Don’t boo me. Look at me, I...

Ktla news director Pete Saiers is out at the Nexstar-owned station after two years.
In his farewell note Saiers wrote to staffers, “I thank everyone for the privilege of having been part of this talented and dedicated team. Take care of each other. And take care of the loyal audience.”
The abrupt exit comes six months after the poorly handled departure of weekend co-anchors Lynette Romero and Mark Mester: Romero left suddenly for rival Los Angeles station Knbc in October. When Mester criticized management on-air for not allowing Romero to make a farewell video, he was suspended and later fired.

San Francisco, Jan 31 (Ians) Meta has announced that it will shut down its social to-do list application ‘Move’, which allows users to earn points for completing tasks on either their personal or group to-do lists, in March.
Launched in March 2022, the application allows users to use earned points to customise an alpaca avatar with accessories like hats, clothing, sunglasses and more, reports TechCrunch.
Move’s larger goal was to promote group involvement as the avatar’s customisation allows users to see which members were the most productive, based on the number of accessories they had collected for their alpaca.
In an iOS application update published on Sunday, Move informed its users that the application will shut down and no longer be available after March 2, 2023.
Now, new users will not be able to sign-up and existing users can log in to download their data before the application’s final closure.

Against the Ropes (Contra las Cuerdas) is a new comedy series created by Carolina Rivera starring Caraly Sánchez, Scarlet Gruber and Carmen Ramos.
Carolina Rivera is the creator of Against the Ropes, she is already being spoken about because of her recent success, also about maternity Daughter from Another Mother and her other film, Sexo Amor y Otras Perversiones.
About the Series
As has been seen, Carolina Rivera likes taking “day to day” things a step further and doing a good job of bringing us out of our comfort zone with regards to every day habits, with a touch of tenderness, a little irony and a lot of empathy. The formula seems to work for her and thanks to good acting, and above all, scripts that are very mundane, she manages to give us a an agreeable consumistic formula seasoned with many touches of reality and melodrama.

The pop field at the Grammys is usually one of the most star-studded every year. This year some of the categories seem especially crowded, so let’s take a quick look at who the main contenders are.
For Best Pop Solo Performance, a lot of big names are in contention. The biggest commercially are two Brits who are also past category winners: Harry Styles’s “As It Was,” which has topped the Hot 100 for 13 weeks as of this writing, and Adele’s “Easy On Me,” which topped the chart for 10 weeks. They will likely be joined by another category winner with a number-one hit: Lizzo, whose “About Damn Time” is easily one of the most memorable moments in pop music this season. Finally, there’s Beyoncé, who will likely be nominated for her two-week number-one hit “Break My Soul.” If there was anything like a lock at the Grammys, it would probably be these four.

Bob Chapek won’t talk about whether an Encanto sequel is coming or not, but the Disney CEO makes it clear he has some very big plans for the company as it heads into its 100th anniversary in 2023.
“We call it next-gen storytelling,” Chapek said backstage at the D23 Expo in Anaheim on Saturday about what has been called Disney’s metaverse future by the man himself in a memo earlier this year. “We tend not to use the M word too often, because it has a lot of hair on it,” the enthusiastic exec adds mere minutes after the sprawling Lucasfilm and Marvel presentations had concluded at the confab.
“But yes, Disney+ will not just be a movie service platform, but it’s going to become an experiential lifestyle platform. A platform for the whole company to embody both the physical things that you might be able to experience in a theme park,...

Joe Jonas paid tribute to one of his fellow early-aughts Disney Channel legends, Hilary Duff, with Dnce sharing a cover of the actress/singer’s 2004 hit, “Come Clean.”
The performance was about as unplugged as you can get, with guitarist JinJoo Lee strumming an acoustic guitar and drummer Jack Lawless using jazz brushes to keep an incredibly inventive beat on a tissue box. Meanwhile, Jonas uses his phone as a makeshift microphone, leaping into his falsetto to hit all the classic high notes on the “Come Clean” chorus.

The Renaissance visuals are coming — for real, for real. After dropping her LP with only a few stills to give fans the chance to “be limitless in their expansive listening journey,” Beyoncé is ready to give her Beyhive the colorful glam, looks, and visual art that they’ve come to expect from their Queen Bey.
On Friday, Beyoncé released what she titled ” I’M That Girl (Official Teaser)” — a teaser for what will be either the long-form visual to accompany the album or a music video for “I’m That Girl.

Beyoncé has hit the pinnacle of the music charts with her single “Break My Soul.” The singer topped the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist for the first time in 14 years. Beyoncé’s lead single from “Renaissance” first hit the charts six weeks ago and it rose to its peak the same week the album made its debut as No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list.
It was in 2008 when Beyoncé reigned the Hot 100 by herself with “Single Ladies,” lasting four weeks on top. However, the Grammy award-winning star had been at the helm of the charts with collaborations since then.
Beyoncé took the top position with Ed Sheeran in 2017 with “Perfect” and in 2020 with Meghan Thee Stallion as they collaborated with the “Savage” remix.
To make room for “Break My Soul” on the Hot 100, Beyoncé knocked down Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” to the second spot after being there for two weeks.

Beyoncé knows the world needs a reason to rejoice right now. With an ongoing pandemic, polarizing politics, an uptick in senseless violence, and the impending global climate crisis, we're overwhelmed. "Renaissance" couldn't have arrived at a better time.
"My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment . . . A place to scream, release, feel freedom."
Beyoncé's seventh solo album, act one of a three-part series, arrives six years after she bared her soul on 2016's "Lemonade." Much like her previous offering, "Renaissance" marks a new era in Beyoncé's evolution - one leading with freedom, confidence, and pure, unadulterated fun. The 28-time Grammy-winning icon has been known to boldly experiment with many genres - pop, blues, and country are just some of her favorites - and "Renaissance" is every bit as daring as it is revolutionary. It pushes to the forefront the music of the ballroom, late-'70s disco-funk era,...
