Sex & Nudity

- Kirk Douglas strips naked facing away from the camera and hops into a barrel to take a bath. As he does so a quick glimpse of his testicles is shown.
- A prisoner draws a topless woman on a wall with chalk. Other prisoners are noticeably lusting over it.
- A woman visiting the prison is caught in the middle of a prison riot fight in the dining area. She isn't hurt but portions of her clothes are ripped off until she is only wearing pantaloons and low cut undergarment revealing cleavage. It's all for comedic affect. According to Barbara Rhoades, who played that role, she ended up running around totally nude for that scene but that part was cut out of the film for some reason.
- A young man and girl are laying on a pool table in her house kissing. He unbuttons her shirt revealing a breast. But then they are interrupted by the girl's father.
- An older man is leaving the bedroom of an older woman. She is laying in bed. She pulls the blanket aside to reveal her breasts to try and get him to come back to bed, but he turns and leaves.
- A brothel is shown where a man is caressing boobs of a prostitute.
- A few scenes where breasts are visible. About three scenes of brief rear male nudity.
Violence & Gore

- There are a couple of prison fights. A scene where a man is stabbed. A scene at the beginning and at the end where several men are shot. Nothing very graphic. A man gets bitten in the neck by a snake.
Profanity

- Language is fairly mild for an R rated film. Goddamn, hell, piss, bitch, ass, damn and shit are words scattered throughout the film but not too pervasive.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Some alcohol consumption is shown. Cigarettes and cigars are smoked many times all through the movie. A couple of scenes where an inmate may be smoking marijuana.
