With all the stars finally in town, the parties were finally in full swing! Who needs sleep when the festivities go until 4 a.m.?
It was the final day of Sundance’s opening weekend and the celebs were out in full force. Today it seemed like the festivities got started a little later in the morning or afternoon, because the stars were recovering from the night(s) before (myself included!). After a couple cups of much needed Joe, I hit the streets to see the houses and suites to which I hadn’t been yet.
12:00 p.m. My first stop was to the Variety Studio’s suite, where stars like the adorable Zooey Deschanel stopped by for interviews, gifts from Woolrich John Rich & Bros. and to take fun pics in the Altoids Curiously Strong Photo Kiosk. The suite was a welcome warm escape from the wind outside! It was so cold!

Although the festival doesn’t really get crazy until Friday, Thurday’s opening night started things off with a bang!

Still recovering from the Golden Globes last weekend, I got a late start to the day and was pleased to wake up to sunny skies and gorgeous slopes. "Stella was tough," recalls Kate Mulgrew of her acting teacher, the legendary Stella Adler. That description is an understatement. In 1931, Adler was a founding member of the revolutionary Group Theatre, which took Broadway by storm with a series of naturalistic productions of socially relevant plays, such as Clifford Odets' "Awake and Sing" and "Paradise Lost." In 1934, unsatisfied with Group Theatre co-founder Lee Strasberg's teaching of Konstantin Stanislavsky's techniques, the determined Adler traveled to Paris and studied with Stanislavsky himself. She returned to the Group with her own understanding of his work and offered acting classes to other members, including Sanford Meisner, Elia Kazan, and Robert Lewis. After a sojourn in Hollywood, where she appeared in such films as "Love on Toast" and "The Shadow of the Thin Man," Adler returned to New York and London to direct and act in numerous plays and to teach at the Erwin Piscator...

Left, Mark Ruffalo and Orlando Bloom at Oakley's Learn to Ride program; right, Naomi Watts and Kerry Washington at the party for their movie Mother and Child. The snowstorm that hovered over Park City the last several days left Utah with some of the best powder the state has seen in a while—some runs on the Park City mountain had snow that was knee-deep—so snow bunnies who had been invited to participate in Oakley’s Learn to Ride program on Sunday, when the flakes finally stopped falling and the sun was out, totally lucked out. After fueling up on Muscle Milk, guests including Orlando Bloom, Mark Ruffalo, and Marisa Tomei outfitted themselves in head-to-toe Oakley gear, were fitted with DC snowboarding boots, grabbed a snowboard, and headed to the mountain for a private lesson. We chased the powder in a chic blue jacket and white pants from Oakley’s Gretchen Bleiler line.

"Twilight Saga" beauty Kristen Stewart has recently revealed the unpleasant things she experienced during the filming of independent movie "Welcome to the Rileys". The 19-year-old actress told Marc Malkin of E! News that she hurt herself while filming one of the scene which required her to do pole dancing.
At the movie premiere at 2010 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on Saturday, January 23, the rumored girlfriend of Robert Pattinson said, "I got bruises all over my legs. I tore myself up doing it. It sucked." Though so, she admitted she enjoyed the scene. "The more I saw it, the more I wanted it," she shared. "It was like a weird self-hating kind of thing."
Stewart, who takes on the role of Mallory in the movie, spent about two weeks training for pole dancing with an actual stripper. "I wanted to do it in my clothes," she revealed when asked about the training.

Joan Jett took the stage at Harry O's at Sundance Saturday night, Jan. 23, wearing a one-piece sequined leotard and sneakers. And guess who was in the audience cheering her on? Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, who star in the biopic of her life.
After thanking the film's director and other folks, Jett gave a big shout-out to Stewart and Fanning, who had come onstage with her. Stewart wore ripped jeans and a dark hoodie. Fanning was more girly in a dark outfit with heels. Both stayed to watch Joan's entire rocking show.
Asked earlier in a press conference how she felt about playing Bella vs. playing Joan Jett, Kristen saw similarities and differences.
"Bella's effect on the world wasn't necessarily as great as Joan's, obviously, and I never got to meet Bella," Stewart said. "It's completely different. All these people who have an investments in these women, that's awesome.

Kristen & Dakota got the royal rock treatment at Sundance!
Punk icon Joan Jett, 50, lit up Harry O’s in Park City, Utah, last night with a wild performance of some of her hits — and as we predicted, she was joined on stage by three not-so-surprise guests, former bandmate Cherie Currie, 51, Kristen Stewart, 19, and Dakota Fanning! Kristen and Dakota play Joan and Cherie in their new movie The Runaways, and they apparently slipped quietly into the SPiN pre-party at the Quintessentially luxury lounge before rocking out to Joan and Cherie’s “Playing With Fire” backstage at Harry O’s. HollywoodLife.com was there as Joan welcomed the ladies to the stage.
“I wanna welcome Cherie Currie who started the band with me, and the two lovely girls who wil play us in The Runaways,” Joan said as Cherie, Kristen and Dakota entered to applause. Dakota smiled and waved to the crowd (she looked so excited!

Kristen Stewart cracks a smile at Sundance. From Fame Pictures. The mayhem outside of Harry O’s in Park City, Utah, around 10:30 p.m. last night suggested that something as big as the second coming of Christ was happening inside the nightclub. Well, something nearly that huge was going down: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts reunited for a show in celebration of the Sundance film The Runaways, which immortalizes the life of legendary rocker Jett and her 1970s teenage band. The film stars the Twilight franchise’s Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, as well at Tatum O’Neal. All three actresses were at the concert; from our view, it appeared as if O’Neal was wearing some sort of Michael Jackson-esque white glove, while Stewart was clad in a black hoodie with pink lettering on the back. When the 51-year-old Jett, looking buff in a sparkly gold pantsuit,...

"Twilight: New Moon" star Robert Pattinson acknowledged the vital role played by modern technology in the aftermath of the 7.0 Haitian earthquake during the London-based segment of "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon on Friday, Jan. 22.
Here's his speech in full:
"Underneath a flattened university, Maxine Fallon waited. She was crouched in a fetal position and could barely move. In the darkness and during the hectic sounds of the day, through the pain, the hunger and thrist, she prayed that someone would find her."
"And on the sixth day her prayers were answered, she was found because of a text message from the rubble sent rescuers to her side. Unlike any other event in history, our world has been connected to this tragedy because of technology."
"Twitter updates, Facebook pages with pictures of the missing and text messages for help. This technology is working right now to connect us, too. At hopeforhaitinow.

Can you imagine a more appropriate movie title? We can’t!
The Sundance Film Festival is officially under way, so lots of big name celebs are flocking to Park City, Utah, for the festivities — and Jon Gosselin is there too! HollywoodLife.com bumped into Jon, 32, and girlfriend Morgan Christie, 25, in the VIP section of Harry O’s during a Nas concert, and the two were all over each other! When they weren’t attached at the mouth, Morgan was hugging him from behind. In great stroke of irony, Jon told us that of all the films at Sundance, he’s most looking forward to seeing one called Douchebags. “I’m going to see Douchebags just so I can take a picture out front,” he told us.
“There are [also] some documentaries I want to see about parents who have to leave their kids when they go to war,” Jon said, before...

More importantly, will Kristen’s Bf Rob Pattinson be by her side?
For all you KStew fans wondering where your homegirl has been hanging out, you can stop wondering: the Twilight star is heading to the Sundance Film Festival this weekend in Park City, Utah.
And we hear that Kristen, 19, as well as co-star Dakota Fanning, 16, – who will premiere their Joan Jett biopic The Runaways on Jan. 24 – will actually be attending Joan’s one-night only show the night beforehand at Park City hotspot Harry O’s.
An insider tells us that Kristen has gotten so close to the legendary rocker, 51, that she’ll “most definitely” be on hand to support her pal. Dakota Fanning, who plays The Runaways band member Cherie Curie, will also be letting loose her inner rocker at the gig.
But here’s the question of the day: will Kristen’s on-screen And off-screen love interest, British heartthrob Robert Pattinson,...

Jacques Telemaque from Filmmakers Alliance has this advice for those filmmakers with the luck to make Sundance, which Btw is Not the end-all-and-be-all or the make-or-break for your film or your career, so don't worry if it did not make it.
The following is a special "Tip Sheet" I created for my fellow Sundance filmmakers back in 2006 that I ammended slightly. But it can still be useful for this year's fest as well as for any festival filmmaker and even for non-filmmaker festival goers. Hope it helps!Sundance Tip Sheet First of all, Congrats to everyone for having your film at Sundance. And even bigger congrats for making your film in the first place. Be prepared to have a blast. And I mean that literally - be prepared. Hopefully this email/guidebook will help. Of course, there's no way for me to know who reading this has or hasn't had a film at Sundance before,...
