- The 1987 UK Network video release was pre-cut by 1 minute 27 secs by the distributors before submission (as per the cinema version) and then cut by a further 26 secs by the BBFC
- the edits being made to remove shots of the policeman's mutilated body, Guthrie pulling a stake from his throat, all footage of flesh eating, shots of zombies on fire, the killing of the Doctor with an axe, and a nurse being eviscerated and her breast ripped off. The 2003 Anchor Bay UK DVD features the full uncut version of the film (all previous cuts have finally been waived) and has the added bonus of an alternative opening credit sequence. The aforementioned "eyeball munching scene" has been proved to have never existed as no version of the film contains it and no footage of it can be found. There is still speculation over whether or not the scene was shot but if it was, the footage is now long gone.
- In the UK, there were 2 pre-VRA videos of this film. The first was by VIP under the title 'The Living Dead' and is uncut. The second was by LVC under the title 'Don't Open The Window' and is the same as the US R rated version
- Cristina Galbó gets billing over Ray Lovelock in the Spanish credits while Lovelock is billed over Galbó in English credits sequences (of which there are more than one).
- The British and export credit sequences only credit Sandro Continenza and Marcello Coscia with the screenplay while the Spanish credits as well as the variant used for the American "Don't Open the Window" version also credit Juan Cobos and Miguel Rubio.
- The movie has been been released in several different versions with various cuts being made (most notably the scene where a woman gets her breast ripped off and her guts pulled out). The version released by Anchor Bay Entertainment in the USA, titled "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie", is the complete 93-minute version, containing all the gore and violence.
- Japanese Laserdisc version contains a very bright, fully uncut, english dubbed version of the movie in its original aspect ratio
