Sex & Nudity

  • There are many scenes of casual, accidental, and intimate nudity in this film. Examples:
  • Casual nudity: In two separate scenes, we see a woman in the process of changing her clothes. In one scene, it is to change from street clothes into a swim suit, and in the other, it is to change out of sweaty tennis clothing in order to bathe. There is also a night swim scene, where both actors start out in swimwear, but end up completely naked on-camera.
  • Accidental nudity: During the cat-fight scene (see Violence section) we see a glimpse of female breast.
  • Intimate nudity: There are many heterosexual intercourse scenes in the movie. They span a complete range of exposure. In one extreme, we see and hear clear copulation, but both actors are undressed scarcely more than needed to achieve congress. Another example near this same extreme, the man walks into a hotel room bathroom, apparently to disrobe, while the woman removes her pants on-camera, revealing her full-coverage panties; their purpose in renting the room is clear, though we never see anything more explicit than this. At the other extreme, there is a sex scene where both actors are completely nude.
  • Most scenes involving nudity only show breasts or buttocks. In two scenes, we see glimpses of natural female pubic hair. No genitalia are ever shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Two brothers playing one-on-one water polo begin rough-housing, which turns into a brief fight. One brother ends up with a bloody nose, and they part angry.
  • The two female characters closest to the brothers have a cat-fight that ends with the pair in the pool. Due to lack of leverage, we see more catharsis and struggle than damage.
  • A drunk man walks into a darkened bedroom and kisses the sleeping woman within awake. She repeatedly tries to go back to sleep, but the man persists, so she begins fighting him. She eventually relents, and we see them mutually enjoying sexual intercourse. The scene certainly approaches the "rape" line; some viewers may consider that it has crossed the line.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is casual smoking and drinking throughout the movie.
  • There is a scene where a man and woman share a bottle of wine (?). Over the course of the scene, we see it go from full to empty as they pass it back and forth, taking slugs straight from the bottle. By the end of the scene, the man is clearly drunk. With his inhibitions lowered, he does something reckless and antisocial.
