Sex & Nudity

  • A group of prostitutes wait upon their pimp.
  • Women with ample bust/cleavage model form fitting evening gowns. A police man inappropriately touches a woman under the guise of a body search (comic i nature). Poster of a nude woman( slightly obscure). Friday goes into a gay bar. One kissing scene, sex is implied. Backstage at a fashion house women are in various stages of undress, including topless. Bare breasts are seen for about five seconds.
  • One shower scene depicting a woman naked from the waist up. She is shown in several shots during the scene from the front, side back, and back.
  • One scene depicting a man and a woman in a tub together. Breasts are shown. A later scene depicting simulated sex between the man and woman, with brief shots exposing her breasts.
  • We see a guy (a comic foil) touching Friday in an inappropriate way, trying to con her into prostitution. The women he has, prostitutes, are also borderline revealing. Hard R sexual content (minus sex and nudity).
  • The cops, in one scene, try to grope Friday. Borderline rape.
  • Two times during an extended multiple shot scene, breasts are shown. In the first a woman's dress is pulled down in a fashion show changing room, exposing her breasts which is seen from the side. In another shot of the same dressing room a woman is standing near the front of the shot with her breasts exposed (she is changing dresses) and are seen from the side.

Violence & Gore

  • A shootout where multiple people are shot, blood splatter and slugs. A woman is stabbed in the back, blood and the knife are visible. A man is killed with a truck. Multiple people are shot and killed in following the scenes.
  • There's a graphic shootout in the beginning between some gangsters and some cops. Graphic. See some wounds, and it's very brutal and intense.
  • After the first shootout, we see a car set on fire. Not very long, but still a pretty graphic scene of arson.
  • During the aftermath too, the shot cop falls to the ground in the lady(we later see hosting a party)'s house, and it's unnerving. We see the wound shot even more closer.
  • At the woman's party, we see a dead woman, with a knife to her, falling down, dead. Very graphic.
  • In one scene, one the villains tries to chase Friday with a knife. Very intense and scary. Luckily he misses her.
  • Several scenes of shooting and fighting, but none appear very real.

Profanity

  • Every curse word in the book for the most part - "N***a," "bitch," "f--k," "sh*t." Pretty pervasive. At least 5 times for each.
  • Several instances of mild to moderate profanity.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Smoking is pervasive throughout the movie, several references to use of illegal drugs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Like her other movies, Pam Grier's movies, along with "Dolemite," tend to be comedies, rather than downright serious all the time, like the original "Shaft" movies, "Superfly." This was a funny movie. Like "Lethal Weapon" (yes I'm referring to the more serious first one), 12 years later, and their more comical sequels, this was a perfect blend of action and comedy.
  • None that are particularly frightening except perhaps for the very young.

Spoilers

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The movie was intense, back in 1975, but by today's standard's it's mostly tame, hence a moderate, rather than severe, rating. The ending shootout between the black militants and the villains comes off as more comical than serious. Some of this movie was funny. Like "Sheba Baby," this was also a comedy action movie too. It also helps that the musical score of that scene was comical-sounding, unlike "Shaft" and "Trouble Man."
