It was fun 31 years ago

I saw this movie as a 12 year old in Manila. It was a fun movie to watch, since all of it was shot in Japan, and it was the type of movie that would appeal to an impressionable teenager. It bordered on the bubblegum, but hey, it was the early 70s! Mark Lester was quite famous in Asia then (after he appeared in Eyewitness and Oliver before that)and he was cast with two Japanese teenagers who were both starstruck and attracted to him. By the way, as I remember it, Mark Lester played himself in the movie, and he gets into some danger as they run/drive around Tokyo and suburbs. If you're in search for Japanese visuals circa 1973 (bullet trains, classic Japanese cars, 70s fashions), then this is a good movie to see.
