Slapstick Comedy in a Monastery (West German Style)
ZeddaZogenau17 January 2024
The second part of the TEUFELSKERLE series

A year after the success of their first slapstick comedy, director Ernst Hofbauer ("Schoolgirl Report") and producer Theo Maria Werner ("KOMMISSAR X") got back to work in Colombia. The veteran Geza von Cziffra was once again responsible for the script for the German-Italian-Spanish co-production. This time they even had the successful German producer Artur Brauner (1918-2019) on board as co-producers.

The main actors were again Wolf Goldan as Jim, Alberto Dell' Àcqua' as the lively Jeff and Rinaldo Talamonti as the goofy Giovanni Telli.

The story is not worth telling any further. This time it's about a monastery with nuns (really?) and a valuable statue of the Madonna, which the rich snot Giovanni is interested in. The most important thing about this film, however, are the hearty fights, which are considerably rougher and nastier than those of the great role models Bud Spencer and Terence Hill.

Jim and Jeff are simply two incorrigible day thieves who never miss an opportunity to cause trouble for other people. There are wild fights because of carousing and offensive smooching. The two bullies Jim and Jeff sometimes knock people out. Nevertheless, the scuffles are staged quite funny, especially Alberto Dell'Acqua, who was also supposed to be there in the upcoming parts "TWO DEVIL'S GUYS on the way to Istanbul / THREE DEVIL'S GUYS in the snow", impressed with his acrobatic tricks. For the German stuntman Wolf Goldan (1944-1986) it was over after this part for reasons unknown to me. He was then seen as a photographer in the German Emmanuelle rip-off "GREECHISCHE FEIGEN" (1977).

For fans of 1970s Italian spanking clothes, this German oddball is definitely worth a look. Of course, you shouldn't expect a masterpiece. However, (Teuton) trash can also be quite enjoyable.
