Forced to leave Boutaïre, the African country where he is a farmer because he is friends with the leader of the opposition there, former mercenary Georges Lancier moves to South Africa to work in the local mining company of a friend.
Cornered by circumstances, Georges Lancier has no choice but to accept Straker's proposal. So, he launches the preparation of the diamond heist, continuing to think that the theft is a legitimate operation, a test of the premises security.
Georges Lancier realizes he has been manipulated to lead the heist, and therefore refuses to return the diamonds. So, Straker has him locked up, and in his cell, Lancier comes face to face with his friend Vidal, whom he thought was dead.
Georges Lancier manages to escape the police thanks to the charming Maggy, whose husband is a wildlife documentary filmmaker. He offers Lancier to work for him. Meanwhile, Vidal contacts a journalist who could help Lancier.
Traveling back to Boutaïre, Georges Lancier must cross the desert. Exhausted, he is rescued by a team of uranium prospectors, but can he really trust them. Meanwhile, Straker dispatches his men on the trail of the former mercenary.
Still on the run, Georges Lancier takes refuge with N'Dola, a leper living in an isolated hut. To reach Boutaïre, where the electoral campaign will begin, he must cross the river, but the area is closely watched. This is a risky operation.
