Sex & Nudity

  • There are a few scenes of near-nudity: a man moons a crowd of tourists (we don't actually see his buttocks, but the action is clear); a woman is shown in her underwear; a woman climbs out of bed showing her bared back.
  • An artistic female nude hangs above a bed in one the scenes; it appears to be a reproduction from a classic painting. The woman is depicted side-on, so we see only one nipple and the profile of a buttock.
  • A man pretending to be a pimp makes a few references to prostitution.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is killed off-camera. We see his body on-camera later.
  • There are several fistfights, some quite brutal. They often exceed the rules of "civilized" fighting: hits below the belt, swings with deadly implements, etc. In one of these fights, one man stomps on a downed man's leg to break it.
  • One man throws a large bowl of molten tar at another, completely covering him from scalp to waist.
  • A woman is accosted by a group of robbers, pushed around, and struck. They rip her outer garments off, leaving her in her underwear.
  • A man is tied up inside a car by thugs. They run a hose from the tailpipe up into the cabin and start the engine. The thugs watch as he asphyxiates.
  • One man knees another in the nads, quite deliberately.
  • A man on a city street shoots a few rounds from a pistol into the air.
  • The climax involves multiparty gun battles, including fully automatic firearms.

Profanity

  • The movie was shot in Italian. The English overdub has a lot of self-censorship; "You son of a bi..!" "You little...!" That kind of thing. I don't speak Italian, but there is evidence that this is a departure from the original dialogue: in one scene, a man says something like, "Man, you're a..." angrily, without finishing the sentence, to which his target responds, "I don't mind your vulgar language." The scene only make sense if the original soundtrack had "vulgar language."
  • There are a few mild oaths in the English soundtrack, though: Jesus, hell, etc.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There are several scenes where a character smokes, most often a cigarette. In one scene, a man smokes a pipe, and in another, a man smokes some kind of hand-rolled cigarette, possibly a joint.
  • There are a few night club scenes where patrons drink alcohol.
  • During an interrogation of a drug dealer by a policeman, amphetamines, "goofballs" and "uppers" are mentioned.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man falls from a roof at least three stories high. The camera shows his fall, though not his landing. We hear his screams and the impact.
