Sex & Nudity

- A major theme and a lot of dialog concerns what place males and their penises are to have in the then-newly dawning (1976) era of feminism.
- There are numerous short sex scenes with nudity ranging from partial to full frontal for both man and woman, and with varying amounts of thrusting. Fellatio and cunnilingus are performed briefly with genitals obscured. In several scenes an erection is visible for a while. In one scene a woman is seen holding a man's erection. Some scenes are not obviously completely consensual.
- A man briefly masturbates or plays with his penis several times. One time we only see arm motion from behind. Another time, we see a couple strokes of his visible, flaccid penis in the presence of a woman and a baby before he lies down between them.
- In a couple of sex scenes a baby boy is present, awake and facing the couple. In one scene the baby is sitting between the nude couple while they touch each other. The man kisses the woman's groin and pats her there and the baby imitates him; any contact is obscured by leg placement and darkness. In another scene, the woman undresses, we see her pubic hair before she presses her groin against the man's face (contact hidden by her hip) while the baby sits nearby.
- A man sticks two fingers inside a specialty condom (French tickler) and we see a woman take it in her mouth.
- In several scenes a man kisses, partially undresses, or fondles various women in ways that appear unwelcome.
- On two occasions, one seen at a distance and one seen close-up, a man discussing penises visibly flips or pokes the unclothed baby's genitals with his hand in front of a woman sitting a few feet away.
- Besides the sex scenes, the male lead is often seen fully nude in casual activities such as bathing or just wandering around the apartment. The female lead is seen nude less often, and then usually with topless or rear nudity. The baby is seen unclothed in the bath, being changed, or at play.
- There is conversation related to "screwing around" with multiple women, "coming", "getting hard", and "jerking off".
- A man presents himself to women with a large sausage roll as an imitation penis.
- We see photos of a woman topless and of a male lion mounting a lioness.
- A table lamp configured as a nude woman with bare breasts is turned on and off by pressing one of the nipples.
- At a daycare center, hand-drawn posters of a boy and girl include genitals.
Violence & Gore

- One very bloody scene of violence seen first at a distance, then abruptly as a close-up.
- A major altercation with slapping, biting, knocking of a head on the floor, and striking with a two-pound sledgehammer. Some blood is visible from both persons.
- A man aggressively shoves women around on various occasions and grabs them roughly to coax sexual activity. Some sexual activity is rough and perhaps not truly consensual.
- One minor fight with mild punching and little damage.
- On two occasions of minor injury, a man makes a woman lick his blood, which we see on her face.
- A woman pulls out one of a man's pubic hairs; it's painful.
- A man winces in pain applying medicine to his penis (not seen) made raw from a lot of sex.
- A man fires a loud kid's pistol at a woman's head at close range.
- A man threatens to tear off a woman's breasts.
- A baby bumps its head on the carpeted floor, without apparent injury.
- Many of a child's toys are war-oriented: a pistol, a machine gun, and a cannon.
- Some dialog about changing diapers is followed by a view of a brown splotch of baby poop on a towel. Later a man is seen blowing farts on a (clean) baby's butt.
Profanity

- "Fuck" and "fucking" a few times, plus "ass", "dick", "pussy", and "shit"; all these in the literal sense. "Bitch" a couple of times, and "goddamn", "screw", and "tits" once or twice each.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Cigarettes are smoked by a couple of characters five or six times. Wine, whiskey, beer, and champagne are consumed socially or at meals. A character guzzles an entire bottle of wine, which contributes to making a bad decision.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- A very bloody close-up scene of mutilation.
- One character berating another with hateful speech at close range.
- Dangerous imitable behavior: driving a motorcycle with an infant on the lap (possibly in a carrying pouch, not clear.)

Violence & Gore
- *************************** BIG SPOILER HERE ***************************Gerard uses an electric knife to cut off his penis. At a distance, we hear his screams and see some blood and the penis lying on the floor. A moment later there is a close-up of the cut-off penis in his hand, all covered with blood.
