Sex & Nudity

  • There is some kissing and flirting.
  • One of the main characters in particlar is a womaniser, but sex is never discussed.

Violence & Gore

  • The vets sometimes sustain injuries while working, such as getting kicked by a horse or chased by pigs. There is very little blood, however.
  • James once damages his arm in a car accident.

Profanity

  • A lot of religious exclamations.
  • "Damn" and "hell" are used sometimes.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The vets often have a drink after work - or are offered one by a client during a visit, sometimes to disastrous effect (played for comedy).
  • Many scenes take place in pubs, where the characters often order pints of beer.
  • There are several scenes where main characters appear drunk and laugh, fall over and make fools of themselves.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are very few frightening scenes in the series.
  • The vets often have to give injections to animals they come to see.
  • The vets (James in particular) sometimes help cows deliver calves. The pre-work is often graphic, but the birth itself mostly happens off-screen.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • An early episode deals with a ghost apparition - the spirit of a monk appears outside at night and frightens James. However, it turns out to be Tristan in disguise.
