Madeline Stowe, in one of her earliest film appearances, was re-voiced by Anne Lockhart, daughter of June and grand-daughter of Gene Lockhart.
Madeleine Stowe appears here as Hetty Hutter in one of her very first film roles. This film was the follow-up television movie to Last of the Mohicans (1977). Coincidentally, she would go on to star as Cora Munro along with Daniel Day-Lewis in the big screen film, The Last of the Mohicans (1992), which finds her at the peak of her popularity.
It is easily within the realm of possibility that a pirate's booty (John Anderson playing the part of Hutter, a former pirate) in the mid 1700's from the British army might have included hand grenades as they were already in widespread use by the European military as early as the 16th century.
Fort Niagara was built and garrisoned by the French. It fell to the English in 1759. It was on the shore of Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Niagara River. In this film it is garrisoned by the British and over run by the Hurons. The location of the fort seems to be much farther east in the middle of the forest.
