- The scenes of conflict due to the feud between the Capulets and Montagues, as well as the ensuing violence and tragedy that comes about as a result, can be intense and mildly frightening. However, this does not divert from the play in any way, and it is not graphic or overly disturbing.

Violence & Gore
- Tybalt kills Mercutio in a duel. In revenge, Romeo then kills Tybalt. Not violent but somewhat sad.
- Anyone who has read the play knows how it ends. Romeo, thinking Juliet is dead, kills himself by drinking poison. Juliet then awakes to find him dead, and she kills herself with a dagger. It is not graphic.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
- A priest gives Juliet a potion to make it appear like she is dead.
- Romeo goes to an apothecary to purchase an illegal drug with which to kill himself. He later drinks it, and he dies.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The ending scene where Romeo and Juliet both commit suicide is a scene of great pathos. However, it follows Shakespeare's play exactly, and it is not inappropriate for family viewing.
