Violence & Gore

  • A zombi gets his head smashed by a giant cross
  • A shark battles a zombie underwater. The zombie tears a chunk out of the shark and begins to eat it.
  • A zombi woman bites a man's forearm and rips the flesh out.
  • Survivors in a barn burn zombies, head smash zombies with shovels, shoot them with guns, and hit them with blunt objects.
  • A zombie grabs a woman through a hole and pulls her forward, blinding her with a splinter to the eye. It is shown slow and up close.
  • Police officers stumbled upon an abandoned ship with severed hands, fingers, bugs, and human skin. A zombi attacks a police officer, biting his neck. The blood looks rather fake, as it is extremely pink and bright.
  • A group of zombie invade New York City. There are close ups of bloody zombie faces. Some zombies have worms in their eyeball.
  • The zombi on the cover bites a woman on the neck, slowly ripping her skin out and causing her to bleed. It is shown in slow motion and the effects are well done.
  • There are some strong scenes of bloody violence and gore in this film. We see zombies feasting on dead bodies; zombies biting bloody chunks of flesh from their victims; a woman's eye impaled in close, extended detail; numerous gunshot wounds; exploding zombie heads; zombies fried by Molotov cocktails; etc.
  • The violence in this film is less frequent and slightly less bloody than in its contemporaries such as Dawn of the Dead, but the lingering, intense style of shooting makes the gore scenes rather more shocking and frightening.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some characters are seen drinking spirits. Little to no smoking and no drug use.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A group runs into a bunch of zombies eating a girl. Some closeups of the zombies ripping flesh from the girl and eating it.
  • The zombies in this movie look dead. Frightening & realistic (in parts) the gore is a whole other level.
  • Everything described in the violence/gore section could be considered frightening/disturbing to some viewers; only view this movie if you are prepared for gruesome blood and gore content.
  • The level of suspense and menace is also quite high in many scenes.
