Sex & Nudity

  • Several episodes are set in a seedy red light district, and some episodes involve prostitutes.

Violence & Gore

  • The show mostly contains fighting, and/or shooting. Occasionally, Magnum has to shoot someone dead or wound someone in self defense. Some bloody wounds are usually showed when people are shot. Magnum is also wounded on occasion. In one episode, Magnum kills a man in cold blood.

  • One episode involves a serial killer who stabs several prostitutes to death.
  • In one episode, Magnum nearly dies from bullet wounds.

Profanity

  • Very mild, if any. Most commonly "damn", "hell", and "bastard". In one episode, the racial slurs "nigger" and "honkie" are said several times.
  • Occasionally, Higgins will say "bloody" or more often will exclaim "oh my God" in a fit of anger.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Plots occasionally involve drug users (usually overdose victims), drug dealers, or drug smuggling.
  • Magnum usually drinks beer, and on occasion liquor, usually in the company of Higgins or if attending a high-profile event. Magnum also occasionally smokes cigars.
  • Rick drinks beer and liquor, and occasionally smokes cigarettes.
  • Various characters drink beer or other liquor (some to drunkenness), as well as smoke cigars and cigarettes.
