Sex & Nudity

  • Rated R-Violence, Language and Some Sexual Content
  • At one point in the movie, Heston's character is seen to be involved in an intimate act with his opposite, though the scene is not sexually explicit. No actual nudity, just understood nudity. Indian rapes his runaway squaw; no explicit nudity or violence, but clearly not consensual.

Violence & Gore

  • The whole movie moves from one bloody battle to the next. It is very violent though not excessively gory.

Profanity

  • Two uses of the "N" word, though neither appears to be in a racial context.
  • Intense profanity throughout, mixed with some obscenities.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The guys really like their liquor. It's a western, so of course there's lots of whiskey, right? No hard drugs......they weren't a big factor at the time this is set in.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • It's a very intense movie. As I said, it goes from one fight to another, and it is full of close calls and brutality.

Spoilers

  • A few male buttocks are shown, and a threesome in a wagon is shown, quickly but visibly

  • Special mention goes to the beheading scene, and the final battle which is extra brutal and bloody.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Near the end of the movie, the villain kills and beheads a man, and starts waving his head around, it looks awfully realistic.
  • The villain rapes the main female character, and is clearly sadistic and abusive towards her, despite not being completely explicit, it can be upsetting to some people.
