Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • After Olive Oyl is rescued by Popeye she kisses him.

Violence & Gore

  • Bluto is very mean and threatens to kill a baby with an octopus.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The race track scene includes opium smokers.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Bluto is pretty mean, and there is a run in with a killer octopus near the film's ending - although there is nothing particularly frightening in this film. The exception is when the giant octopus attacks Sweepee who is in a small boat, the scene cuts to the boat being destroyed by the octopus, but Poopdeck Pappy manages to catch the baby with a hook and haul him up in time.
  • After Bluto force-feeds Popeye a can of spinach at the climax, he weighs the apparently unconscious Popeye down to drown him. Of course, Bluto doesn't realize that he powered up Popeye by chance with that action, and the sailor man, now strong to the finish, soon recovers and defeats the bully with a mighty punch.
