  • Scoutmaster : [taking the scouts into the wilderness]  All right men, today's the day we're going to go into the wilderness. Now, all my life I've waited to take a group of men like you into the wilderness. Now these are hallowed mountains. Roamed by great Indian tribes like the Apache, Iroquis, Chippawa, and Hopi.

Scout : [inquisitive]  Did they kill Custer?

Scoutmaster : No, those were the Sioux and Cheyenne who lived on the Great Plains. The Hopi lived in these mountains. They raised beans. They were a bean-raising tribe.

[giggles from the other boy scouts]

Scoutmaster : Now we are never lost with our compass as you can see. Now the streams lead to the lake and the lake leads to the ocean. 'Course it does.

[puts his compass away and prepares the scouts]

Scoutmaster : Now I want you to pick up a branch or a rock and take it home to mom or dad as a memento of our trip. No rattlesnakes - they carry germs. All right, men... dismissed.
