- TriviaFor the United States, there were a total of three Voltrons. Voltron I of the Near Universe was the Vehicle Force. Voltron III of the Far Universe was the "Lion Force." Voltron II, from the Middle Universe, featured three humanoid robots that combined into one multi-armed fighter. Toys based on Voltron II were sold in the US, but the show was not. In Japan, there was only Lion Voltron. The other two combiner robots were from other Japanese mecha shows: Dairugger (Voltron 1), and Albegas (Voltron 2).
- GoofsIn order to activate the Lions, each team member had to insert a special key. In many instances when Keith is starting the Voltron forming sequence, his key can still be seen on his tunic, but then is also seen on the panel of his lion, and then moves in the same way - left to right - as it already did when first being used to activate the Black Lion.
- Crazy creditsAt the end of the closing credits, the Black Lion stands up and roars.
- Alternate versionsIn the mid-1980s, CBS FOX Video released four Voltron tapes in Australia. Two of those tapes, titled "Voltron In The Castle Of Lions" and "Voltron Versus The Empire Of Drule", had several scenes cut out by the distributor.

The Best
Anyone who trashes this show misses the entire concept. It wasn't about making the best drawings, or having the greatest music, or even phenominal action, it was about fun. If you watch this show from a child's perspective, you would understand that this is about friendship and teamwork and just having fun and living because you can. I would watch this show with my friends and then go out and be the Voltron Force. But the cartoons that are on now just can't get the idea. Stupidity isn't what a great cartoon is about. Voltron was designed so that little kids could understand it, and when it gets tampered with (Power Rangers, VR Troopers, Big Bad Beetleborgs, to name a few) it just ruins the original. Cartoon designers see these classics as ways of making a profit without having to think about it. But Voltron is the best, and will always be the best.
