Kevin Costner is planning to shoot Horizon: An American Saga Part 3 and Part 4
Earlier this week, news landed that the UK will definitely be getting Kevin Costner’s upcoming Horizon: An American Saga on the big screen. Costner has co-written, starring and directs the first two films in a planned four movie saga, and both will be in cinemas this summer.
Still, Horizon: An American Saga has cost a reported $100m a film, and Kevin Costner’s plans to shoot the third and fourth chapter looked to have been a little bit delayed. There were reports that he was rattling tins just to tie up the financing, after putting substantial funds into the project himself.
The thinking was that he’d thus wait until the release of Horizon: An American Saga – Part 1 and Horizon: An American Saga – Part 2 before trying to get Part 3 and Part 4 moving. Not so, though. Having...

It might be early January, but it’s never too early for some “Cruel Summer.” On Thursday, Teddy Swims visited BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, where he performed a cover of the Taylor Swift Lover favorite.
Swims started the rendition backed only by a piano as he whispered the opening lyrics, before being joined by a drum kit as he hit the high notes in the song’s chorus, and gave a soulful rendition of the song’s iconic bridge.
“Cruel Summer” had a huge 2023, four years after its initial release.

This Power Rangers Cosmic Fury article contains spoilers through episode 9.
2025. A year that’s loomed over Power Rangers since 2005 when Power Rangers S.P.D., the 13th season of the franchise, aired. S.P.D.’s unusual jump forward in the timeline (previously each season had more or less matched it years of airing) was so the show could tell stories about an Earth that, to quote the shows first episode, “has become a haven for all alien races who come from the farthest reaches of the galaxy.”
The world of S.P.D. was one where aliens lived freely amongst humans, just a regular part of everyday life, and the titular Space Patrol Delta protected Earth against the few aliens who refused to live in harmony. It set up the idea that, within twenty years of the season’s airing, Earth in the Power Rangers universe would soon be crawling with aliens.

The best joke in “History of the World, Part I” is the tablets. Moses descending from the mountaintop, bearing 15 commandments, only to drop one of the three in his armful, is as simple and elegant as you can get. It’s in Mel Brooks’ delivery, but it’s also in the way that punchline plays in any area. Any era, from vaudeville to Vine, gets an equal shot at that laugh.
Arguably, the second best joke in “History of the World, Part I” is the quick epilogue that smushes together slices of ideas as a test case for what a potential sequel might have looked like. The stuff wedged into the end of that 1981 movie is weirder, more abstract, and, yes, shorter. For decades, the fact that “Part 2” never came only made it funnier in its own way.

If you read our Gold Derby combined odds for Oscar Best Picture, you see that the race is over and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” is about to be crowned at the Academy Awards on March 12. But the favorite doesn’t always win the horserace. Upsets happen. The longshot comes in. Jaws drop. Calculations go awry. Something that no one could see coming winds up coming in. Chaos reigns.
And we love it.
If there is anything we’ve learned, it’s that there are no guarantees. Films that the majority think should have won, don’t. That’s particularly true in hindsight. “Citizen Kane,” widely regarded as the finest film of the 20th century, lost. So did the film many consider to be Martin Scorsese’s best, “Raging Bull.” “Moonlight” beat “La La Land.” “Crash” upset “Brokeback Mountain.” “Shakespeare in Love” upended “Saving Private Ryan.” “Chariots of Fire” snared the trophy over “Reds.

HBO’s incredible The Last of Us series has clearly generated renewed interest in The Last of Us games. Sales of The Last of Us game are up, and many fans of the show are wondering if it’s worth playing through the games as they watch the series (or possibly after). Of course, that renewed interest has also led to more people wondering just how long it takes to beat The Last of Us games.
As always, the answer to that question does depend on a few factors. Most notably, those who may not have as much experience with more modern games (or those who try to play the games with higher difficulty settings enabled) will naturally spend more time with the games than some other players will. Ultimately, most people wondering how long it takes to play the games really want to know how much time they should...

Bill Lawrence is responsible for some of TV's most memorable shows like "Spin City," "Scrubs," "Cougar Town," "Clone High," and most recently, "Ted Lasso." It's hard to overstate how sensational "Ted Lasso" has been since its debut in 2020, with the aggressively kindhearted show about Jason Sudeikis as an American football coach hired to manage a British soccer team becoming a worldwide phenomenon at a time when folks were in desperate need for some positivity. The show became must-see TV, and folks couldn't stop talking about why "Ted Lasso" was one of the best shows on air.
Of course, there are plenty of folks who either haven't seen or genuinely don't enjoy the Emmy Award-winning series. When it seems like everyone and their mother is watching a popular show, the contrarian desire to actively avoid it at all costs can rear its bitter head. In a recent interview with The Washington Post, The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann revealed that he is not only a fan of Elden Ring but that his time with that game (and other titles) may have inspired him to tweak his own approach to video game storytelling.

This pulpy mystery series about a group of teenage girls marooned on an island is Prime Video’s version of Lost or Yellowjackets so give it a watch if that kind of thing sounds up your alley. Also arriving on May 6 is the true crime docuseries The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith.

Most people question the intention behind doing a remake; is it for money (always), or so an IP won’t revert back to original ownership (sometimes), or is it to improve on an interesting concept but poor delivery (it’s happened before)? These are the normal scenarios. But then you have a legend like Tobe Hooper, who decides as the middle flick in a three-picture deal with Cannon Films, to do a sincere remake of Invaders from Mars (1986), the 1953 minor cult classic. Why? Because you can tell he genuinely loves the original, and he leaves enough Dr. Pepper fingerprints so you know you’re in Hooper Town.
Released in early June, Invaders lost money and wasn’t a critical success. Surprise! Unfortunately, most Hoopers’ aren’t built for the era they occupy; it’s not often his work was appreciated in his time.

Alana Haim has been performing with her older sisters, Este and Danielle, as one-third of the pop-rock band Haim ever since 2007. The trio has released several hit albums, including their Grammy-nominated record Women in Music Pt. III, which is currently up for Album of the Year at the 2022 Grammy Awards. Through the years, they've also collaborated with several huge names, like Taylor Swift and Lorde, and have been featured on soundtracks for movies like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 and The Divergent Series: Insurgent.
While the girls have done practically everything together over the past decade, in 2021, Alana embarked on a major project all on her own: starring in the coming-of-age drama Licorice Pizza directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Her role as Alana Kane earned her several impressive award nominations, including Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards, where...

Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce “Dune Part 2,” but the company’s CEO Ann Sarnoff is making it sound like the next installment in Denis Villenueve’s intended two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel is all but confirmed. Speaking to Deadline, Sarnoff pointed fans to the fact that Villenueve’s first “Dune” film ends on a cliffhanger when discussing the possibility of a second “Dune” movie. Villeneuve only agreed to direct “Dune” for Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment if he could split Herbert’s novel into two films. It was Villeneuve’s original plan to shoot both installments back-to-back, but studio logistics got in the way.
“Will we have a sequel to ‘Dune?’ If you watch the movie you see how it ends,” Sarnoff said when asked about “Dune Part 2” happening. “I think you pretty much know the answer to that.”

Warning: The following contains spoilers for Sunday’s The Walking Dead. If you’d rather watch first, read later, treat this interview like Negan might a sentence without an expletive and skip it.
The Walking Dead unpacked not one but two shockers in Sunday’s “Acheron, Part 2” (recapped in full here): First, Maggie allowed Negan to live even after he ignored her cry for help and let her fall into the open arms of a pack of walkers. Then, her recollection of her cold response to a house of horrors led to… well… as Jeffrey Dean Morgan puts it,...

Let it never be said that the Twilight film franchise doesn’t know how to make an entire movie theater gasp aloud in shock and horror. In 2012, with the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, the final installment in the paranormal romance adaptation, it did just that, delivering a twist ending bloodbath that seemed to differ wildly from the book’s canonical conclusion… before immediately backtracking on the entire thing. The movie reveals that the sequence is simply a vision Alice Cullen shares with Michael Sheen’s Volturi leader Aro in order to convince him to settle their families’ vampire disagreement over Renesmee peacefully, which they do. And they all live happily ever after.
“To me, it’s like an eight minute musical number,” director Bill Condon told Vulture in 2012 of the film’s wild climax, adding that he had particular fun deciding who would be killed in the “dream” sequence.
