Tucker’s back on Y&r with a new mysterious connection to Diane. Pic credit: CBS
Who is Tucker McCall on The Young and the Restless? That’s a question many Y&r fans are asking as the character resurfaced with a new face and new drama.
It’s been a while since viewers of the hit CBS daytime drama have seen Tucker on-screen.
The character left Genoa City for Hong Kong in 2013, leaving behind his mother, Katherine (Jeanne Cooper), and son Devon (Bryton James).
Now Tucker’s back in town thanks to Diane (Susan Walters), although she’s definitely not happy about his return.
Although they did have one-night stand years ago, Tucker showing up in Genoa City has nothing to do with their tryst but rather one of Diane’s many deep dark secrets.
Before what brings Tucker back comes to light, it’s time for a little refresher on the character.

Queen Latifah’s “The Equalizer” debuted to 20.404 million total viewers following Super Bowl Lv. On Sunday, in its regular time-slot premiere, the CBS drama drew 7.976 million viewers, which means the show retained 39% of its Episode 1 audience for Episode 2. That’s pretty damn good. As a matter of fact, it’s the best retention for a post-Super Bowl show since 2013*. Why the asterisk? Well, the 39% retention rate for “The Equalizer” equal(iz)ed what NBC’s “The Blacklist” held onto in 2015. On Wednesday, we’ll get final Live + Same Day Numbers for the second episode of the new “Equalizer.” Any even semi-significant upward adjustment will hand Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) his hat and make this a clean “in-eight-years” claim. A TikToker with political connections, a speedo-clad model with a Zoolander complex and a reality competition veteran with a grudge against Meghan Trainor were among the standout auditions (for better or worse) as American Idol returned to ABC for its 19th season on Sunday.
Let’s get that first one out of the way: No conversation about the premiere’s most memorable moments would be complete without discussing Claudia Conway, the daughter of former Donald Trump senior advisor Kellyanne Conway. The horror community has lost another legendary director today, as Deadline is reporting that Tobe Hooper has passed away at the age of 74.
Hooper, perhaps most well known for giving us The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 1974, died yesterday of unknown causes. Respected and iconic, the director not only brought us that aforementioned horror flick, but was also behind many others such as Poltergeist, Lifeforce and more. Additionally, he also did some work on television, directing episodes of Tales from the Crypt and The Equalizer, among others.
Even with 37 credits to his name, though, it’ll be The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that he’ll always be remembered for, as it was a hugely influential movie. Made for less than $300,000, it helped give birth to the slasher genre as we know it today. Not to mention that the film also achieved notoriety for being banned in several countries back when it was released.

Following the mid-70s wave of critically acclaimed Australian cinema, thanks to names like Peter Weir, Fred Schepisi and Gillian Armstrong, director Bruce Beresford would score his first of several iconic moments in cinematic history with 1980’s Breaker Morant, based on the play by Kenneth G. Ross. The film premiered at the 1980 Cannes Film Festival, and was awarded a Best Supporting Acting accolade for Jack Thompson (a category that no longer officially exists), and began a prolific decade for Beresford, which closed with a controversial Best Picture win at the 1989 Academy Awards with Driving Miss Daisy. Documenting a particularly heinous miscarriage of justice from the country’s military history, Beresford’s title helped established a legacy of commemorative reenactments from his native country and showcases a trio of excellent performances.

There's a new Pitch Perfect movie coming out next week. I knew that they were making Pitch Perfect 2 but I didn't realise it was coming around for general release so soon. I became aware when I saw a poster for the film in the lobby of my local multiplex last week.
My first thought was "Oh, Pitch Perfect 2 is coming out". My second thought, sadly, was "Hurm. Do we really need a Pitch Perfect sequel?" (This is the crucial thought so remember this). My third thought was "Ah, it's coming out on the same week as Mad Max: Fury Road." I then had fantastical visions of Max singing a capella mash-ups in the haze of the post-apocalyptic outback, bustin' rhymes and bustin' feral thug-brains in perfect harmony. There's your sequel pitch - 'Mad Max: The Rockatansky Rock-Off'.

Final Update, Monday, 2:25 Pm: The finally tallies are in with Universal’s horror film Ouija and the Keanu Reeves’ actioner John Wick winning the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively. St. Vincent, which went wide, did okay for The Weinstein Co. With terrific exit polling, it should get some more play. In their second weekends, Sony/Qed’s Fury held well (-44%) as did Fox’s animated The Book of Life (-41%). Relativity’s The Best of Me wasn’t as lucky (-54%). Noteworthy: We’ve included the grosses for the Bollywood heist film Happy New Yea from our own sources as Rentrak did not report for it. There are still no official numbers for the the film which we know tallied biggest opening weekend in Indian Cinema history (per its producer). Strange as to why they are not touting the numbers and reporting them as soon as possible, but...

By a margin of only $378,854, Gone Girl was the #1 film at the box office this past weekend, just barely topping the horror prequel Annabelle. Based on an average ticket price of $8.15 that's a margin of only 46,485 tickets. As I wrote yesterday, this is a great result for both films as the Gone Girl opening is the highest opening for a David Fincher film at $37.5 million. Meanwhile, the opening for Annabelle at $37.1 million is the highest for a horror film in 2014 and only $4 million shy of the opening for the film's predecessor, The Conjuring, which will have its own direct sequel next October. Heading into the weekend I would have guessed these two films would have been neck-and-neck around $27-28 million, but they sure proved me wrong. Of course, while Gone Girl is on top in terms of the amount of money taken in, when you count its $61 million budget versus the $6.5 million budget for Annabelle,...

Next year’s full to bursting with potentially brilliant geek films, so to help, here’s our pick of 25 must-see movies out in 2015…
Compiling a list of next year's most exciting films is extremely difficult. What do you put in? What do you leave out? Those are some of the questions we've had to ask ourselves as we drew up the long-list of our most anticipated films of 2015. In an attempt to limit the number of sequels which can fill up a list such as this, we've left out something like Fast & Furious 7, even though we're fairly sure it'll be a lot of fun. With but two significant exceptions, we've excluded some of the films we were looking forward to this year that have been delayed until the next, such as Kingsman: The Secret Service and Frankenstein.
What we're left with, we hope, is a fairly broad selection of action and comedy,...

Lynn Shelton’s latest indie dramedy, Laggies, not only comes with the largest budget that the director’s ever worked with, but also the first script she did not pen herself (written instead by Andrea Seigel). Set on the outskirts of Seattle, the film tracks Megan (Keira Knightley), a young woman out of graduate school, working as the underemployed “sign girl” for her father’s tax firm and as she describes it, “floating,” through life. Still hanging out with the high school friends she went to prom with and dating the same high school sweetheart, Keira has a crisis of confidence when her boyfriend (Mark Webber) attempts to propose to her at a friend’s wedding.
The early representations of Megan friends paint the group as square and simple. A joke Megan makes a bout a Buddha statue’s nipples offends her one friend (portrayed effectively by the perpetually underused...

Hitting theaters in three weeks, Sony Pictures has released a new featurette for director Antoine Fuqua’s The Equalizer starring Oscar-winner Denzel Washington, Chloë Grace Moretz and Oscar-winner Melissa Leo.

Denzel Washington plays McCall, a man who believes he has put his mysterious past behind him to lead a quiet life in peace. But when McCall meets Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can’t stand idly by – he has to help her.

Denzel Washington & Chloe Grace Moretz Have a Heart-to-Heart in This 'Equalizer' Preview (Exclusive)
Denzel Washington's new rock-'em sock-'em thriller "The Equalizer" is the unlikely opener of this year's Toronto International Film Festival, a lavish, ten-day-long affair that features hundreds of movies, of every flavor, texture, and genre from all over the world.
This is a festival that caters specifically to its audiences, though, with the audience award winners usually going on to capture Oscar gold as well, and in that respect, "The Equalizer" is a perfect choice -- it's going to get the people whooping. In our exclusive clip, though, which takes place in the calm before the storm, you'll get to see Denzel bonding with a young prostitute, played by Chloe Grace Moretz.
The sequence is just a minute long, although this might be the only minute in the entire movie when Denzel Washington isn't brutally kicking someone's butt. Washington plays a lowly worker at a Home Depot-style home improvement store...

Do you need more things equal in your life? Then you’re in luck with this new trailer and poster for The Equalizer who really should be working hard on the gender divide rather than sticking it to a few low-level pimps but this is Hollywood after all.
Denzel Washington steps back into pissed-off older man territory, shouldering up to Liam Neeson and Harrison Ford, but the man has got form – Training Day (also with Equalizer director Antoine Fuqua) for one.
And though a generation of us mourn Edward Woodward it’s no surprise to see Sony throwing a spotlight on this one for the kids of today. Washington is joined by Chloe Moretz who needs to do something special after If I Stay and Carrie in order to regain the spark she had with Kick-Ass.

The Toronto International Film Festival made its final announcement this morning and so the fall film festival circuit geography is basically set, other than waiting for the day-of Telluride announcement, which has already been largely telegraphed by the status of Tiff and the New York Film Festival and whatever Fantastic Fest has left to offer, of course. It's a remarkably vast playing field, with hundreds of films to choose from. With that in mind, there's lots of smaller films that aren't as name brand as say, “The Equalizer” starring Denzel Washington. So a few first looks and new photos have arrived from such films. But first, note a movie that surprisingly isn't at Tiff: "Kill The Messenger" starting Jeremy Renner. Directed by Michael Cuesta (a producer and director on “Homeland”), the dramatic thriller boasts quite a cast, including Rosemarie DeWitt, Ray Liotta, Tim Blake Nelson, Barry Pepper, Oliver Platt, Michael Sheen,...

There are multiple reasons to start getting excited for September’s The Equalizer. The thriller teams Denzel Washington with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua and finds the actor taking on another badass action hero role. Its supporting cast boasts Melissa Leo, Chloë Grace Moretz, Marton Csokas and Haley Bennett, and the film also features an original song by rapper Eminem with a chorus by Chandelier chanteuse Sia.
The latest TV spot not only really reminds us of what we already knew about The Equalizer‘s story, but it also highlights Eminem and Sia’s track, titled “Guts Over Fear.” Though we heard snippets of the song in a previous trailer, Eminem’s rapping is more center stage this time around – and Slim Shady sounds like he’s at the top of his game here.
Here’s the synopsis for The Equalizer:

If Hollywood and theater owners are depressed about the summer box office, they might be even more worried about what's coming this Fall. September is always a mixed bag, but at this point it looks like there won't be any blockbuster like "Gravity" to get people excited this October. In fact, it will be shocking if any film in September or October debuts to over $40 million. Just a few months ago there was some reason for some optimism. Late September player "The Equalizer" with Denzel Washington should easily play for a few strong weeks, Robert Downey, Jr. is returning with a potential awards player in "The Judge," Seth Rogen and James Franco are reuniting for R-rated comedy "The Interview" and footage from Matthew Vaughn's "Kingsman: The Secret Service" turned heads from CinemaCon to Comic-Con. Unfortunately, and both due to production reasons, the latter two films have pushed to Christmas and February 2015 respectively.

Two factors are certain to ratchet up the sense of anticipation heading into September. Most of these titles are without Us distribution and that said, it remains to be seen which films will qualify for a coveted first-weekend slot.

I prefer the original Japanese voice cast with subtitles, but as always it's hard to sell the film here in the Us without dubbed English voices. We've got another trailer for Denzel Washington's vigilante movie The Equalizer for you to watch. I enjoy watching action thrillers like this, and it looks like Washington gives a fierce performance. The actor plays a hardcore character named Robert McCall who helps a young woman, played by Chloe Moretz, gain her freedom. In the process he takes down the entire Russian mob. Washington is such a great actor, and it's great that he teamed up with his Training Day director, Antoine Fuqua, to bring us this film. Here's the synopsis:
