  • A man holds another mans severed head, showing it to a group of soldiers.Quite disturbing and unexpected.

  • Some scenes of fighting(this includes a man getting punched several times in the head and having his nose broken) and threats of violence.

Profanity

  • Quite a bit of swearing throughout the movie mostly from Stanley White.
  • About 37 f*** words but some instances can easily be missed though.
  • Racial slurs including chink, spic, nigger. Some offensive racist dialogue as well. The words "shit"and "bastards"are also used among other profanities.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Not a lot of drinking, smoking or drugs per se but the whole movie focuses on an organization whose main dealings concern heroin.
  • Some characters drink and smoke.
  • Numerous talks of drug deals.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some of the violence is intense and unexpected, although much of it is subdued and plays like something from Dirty Harry.
  • The movie has a rather dark atmosphere since it focuses on the underworld of Chinatown.
  • The scene with the severed head, though not too graphic, might be the most disturbing thing in the movie.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The scene in which Stanley and his wife are assaulted in their own home by two Chinese assassins is very upsetting as the wife is garroted by one of the killers. Her lifeless corpse is seen briefly with blood pooling out of the wound in her neck caused by the sharp wire.
