The show was originally going to be an adaptation of the 1940s Human Torch, and both Captain Justice and Woody were intended to be Human Torch and Toro, but copyright issues (I.e. the name rights of "The Human Torch" in film belonged to Constantin Film at that time) and the same reasons that prevented Human Torch from appearing in The Fantastic Four (1978) and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (1981) led the entire characters being changed to generic superheroes.
The series' original working title was "True Colors", but it was changed at the behest of network executives.
Although the superhero Captain Justice was played by Jeff Lester, the Brazilian DVD set credits Jim Turner and uses his face in the artwork instead of Lester's. Turner never appeared in the show.
