Youth, friendship and political turmoil in small town Italy in the '70s
robytdd19 December 2020
"Il grande Blek" is Giuseppe Piccioni's debut film that attempts to describe the political and social turmoil that also influenced the life of Italians small towns, the province, in the 1970s.

Through the history of the families and friendships of Juri (Roberto De Francesco), we relive the 'hot years' of the dispute, perhaps with a few too many honey extractions.

However, the film has very successful moments. The soundtrack features many songs by singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti, from those years.

A successful generation portrait.

Great movie, sensitive and coherent
fer-46 October 1998
It's been a long time since I saw this movie (on a Saturday morning about 3h00 am, after a party night), but I still remember how impressed and moved I was by this film. The characters are credible, ordinary people with all the good and bad qualities that ordinary people have. The story is about real-life events, nothing to do with the usual artificious and/or absurd plots. The film has all the good qualities of a good Italian movie: feeling, emotion, taste. Despite (or because of) that, I never knew anyone else who had seen it. I am glad that I found this reference in the database, now at least I know that I did not dream it.

A bittersweet portrait of a generation
lisabrux22 April 2002
I saw this movie only once and a long time ago, but I cannot but recommend it for its poetic and sensible description of the emotions and fears of a group of young Italians in the sixties. The details of the plot are now a bit blurred in my mind, but I remember feeling moved. And the soundtrack was great.
