- A dedicated sheriff in the 1880s who, after his first family is ravaged by a gang of renegades, gets a chance for revenge years later when the same outlaws threaten his new family and the frontier town he single handedly tamed.
- After his wife and son are ravaged and killed in 1865 by General Grey's gang of marauding renegades, Sam Hatch (John Bennett Perry) dedicates his life, as a bounty hunter, to tracking down the renegades and guerillas, which leads him to Independence, Missouri, and to cleaning up the gunslinging town. By skillfully outshooting the local law officers, who are nothing more than outlaws and hoodlums, Hatch rids the town of the despicable desperados. The grateful mayor, and citizens appoint Hatch to be sheriff, and he takes a new bride, Birdie Fitzgerald (Isabella Hofmann: "Homicide: Life on the Streets"). Still haunted by bitter memories, Hatch vows to defend the town from the murderous gang who brutally massacred his family, and now want to kill all the men, rob the bank, and rape the women.
Follow the nonstop action as Sam Hatch goes gun to gun with "General Grey's Guerillas" when they re-appear to terroize the peaceful citizens of INDEPENDENCE. Also starring Anthony Zerbe, Paul Brinegar (Wishbone in "Rawhide"), R.G. Armstrong, Amanda Wyss, and Julius Carry (Lord Bowler, in "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.").
