We’ve seen Jimmy Fallon jam like this before, but never with so many collaborators.
Pulling from his recurring bit of performing songs with classroom instruments, Fallon and Keke Palmer led a theater full of Television Academy members in a group rendition of the song “Wild Thing.”
Fallon managed to sing, play kazoo, and provide percussion while conducting the audience, who were given kazoos, cowbells, and maracas to play along. Palmer took on kazoo duties as well.
Fallon shared a video of the performance on Twitter/X:
Thank you to @KekePalmer and everyone who came out to the Pacific Design Center yesterday for our Tonight Show #FYC event, and for helping us out with an impromptu Wild Thing Classroom Instruments. That was fun. pic.twitter.com/IdFj40Nd3I

In 1989, "Weird Al" Yankovic released a song called "Isle Thing," a parody of Tone Lōc's 1988 hit "Wild Thing." In Yankovic's version, the song's narrator met an attractive woman at the Circle-k and went back to her place, presumably for some active coitus. Instead, however, the woman eschewed sex for a marathon of "Gilligan's Island" reruns. The narrator immediately began to recognize the logical inconsistencies in Sherwood Schwartz's beloved 1963 sitcom, notably that the Professor (Russell Johnson) could build a nuclear reactor using only coconuts, but wasn't able to construct a boat to escape the desert island he and the castaways were stranded on. Yankovic also noted that "those homeboys brought an awful lot for just a three-hour tour."
The premise of "Gilligan's Island" is made clear in the show's opening theme song. Two sailors and five guests were to take a three-hour boat tour around Hawai'i when they hit bad weather,...

Wayne Kramer, who died Feb. 2 at the age of 75, lived a truly rock n’ roll life, from his gloriously unhinged guitar playing with influential proto-punk revolutionaries MC5 to a prison term, years of addiction, and a musical comeback in the Nineties. In this 2018 interview, previously available only in audio form on our Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, he looked back at all of it. Lithofayne (Faye) Pridgon was Jimi Hendrix’s original “Foxy Lady.” When they met, Pridgon was bold and flirtatious—characteristics that caused Hendrix to feel self-conscious once they were together. The famed guitarist even had rules for her to follow at night clubs.
Jimi Hendrix was devoted to and possessive of Faye Pridgon
Hendrix was certainly more devoted to Pridgon than many of his contemporaries were to their girlfriends. The guitarist had a habit of writing Pridgon “passionate, poetic love letters,” which she kept her entire life.
“He was also fiercely possessive and her naturally bold, flirtatious manner, which had first drawn them together, became unacceptable once they were a couple,” reads Wild Thing: The Short, Spellbinding Life of Jimi Hendrix by Philip Norman.
When Pridgon would join Hendrix at the clubs he’d play at, she was forbidden to dance with other men unless the song was uptempo and there was no body contact.

Jimi Hendrix met Lithofayne (Faye) Pridgon outside the Apollo theater. He was trying to get backstage to talk with Sam Cooke, who he thought could help his career. Hendrix and Pridgon took a quick liking to each other. Here’s how their whirlwind romance began.
Who was Faye Pridgon?
Pridgon was born in Dirty Spoon, Georgia. She was the daughter of a professional dancer and reportedly the illegitimate great granddaughter of Henry Ford, according to Wild Thing by Philip Norman. At 15 years old she had an affair with Little Willie John, who’s known for the song “Fever.” At 16, she was romantically connected to Same Cooke, which is how she got Hendrix backstage that night at the Apollo. It also didn’t hurt that she was best friends with Etta James.
When Hendrix met Pridgon, she was two years older than him. She wore a tight pegged skirt and higher-than-high heels.

Ever since the fall of the WCW some 20 years ago, the WWE has maintained such a stranglehold on pro wrestling in the Western mainstream that they’re synonymous with the very idea of it. It’s not like other federations didn’t exist in the 21st century, but none have been creatively and/or financially able to make a product even approaching what Vince McMahon’s megalith was capable of. The same story applies to the realm of video games, where the WWE has enjoyed 15 years of near-total dominance as far as wrestling games go in the West.
Enter All Elite Wrestling, the first high-profile alternative to the WWE since Tna, the first to truly feel creatively superior in multiple areas, and the first to try their hand at a Aaa video game since Tna Impact! “I wonder what it’s like up there?” ponders 83-year-old Chip Taylor on The Cradle of All Living Things, the extraordinary new album he feared would be his last. He’s addressing his wife, Joan, as he tilts tenderly into a chorus that imagines love beyond death: “Do you close your eyes/ And look into mine?/ You are my closing time.”
The woman he married in 1964 can’t hear the song, though. A series of strokes have left Joan deaf. Which is why several of the songs on the album stress the importance of their remaining senses. Taylor sings, “I know that I don’t see much/ Close my eyes and it is you that I touch/ I touch your hair, I touch your nose, I touch your lips/ baby, I suppose…”

Rico Nasty and Flo Milli are all about the “Money” in the video for Rico’s new song. Produced by Boyz Noize, the single interpolates samples from 2 Live Crew’s “We Want Some Pussy” and Tone Loc’s “Wild Thing.”
The Roxana Baldovin-directed clip takes the rappers on a financial-oriented journey, where cash rules the day. “Hey, we want some money,” they rap. The duo are seen in an infomercial called The Money Show, strut down a yellow brick road in homage to The Wizard of Oz, and float through the clouds.

Despite a rocky career that included many dark times, Raccoon is now ready to step into the light. This Group A contestant on “The Masked Singer” Season 5 took the stage for the first time on Wednesday, March 10 and endeared himself to the panelists with his raw energy. “I loved it because he didn’t follow script so you’re on the edge of your seat,” smiled Robin Thicke after watching the sheriff rodent’s initial performance. “And that’s entertainment at its finest.”

In retrospect, we should’ve guessed this week’s un-Masked Singer. After all, the guy has 400 — no, that’s not a typo — acting credits to his name.
So we’re slightly ashamed that we didn’t realize that Danny Trejo — whom you may know from TV shows as varied as The Flash, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and Sons of Anarchy — was underneath Raccoon’s furry head.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 5 Episode 3 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired March 24 on Fox.
Danny Trejo has spent the past few weeks dodging people in public asking him if he’s the Raccoon on “The Masked Singer.”
“The Masked Singer” likes to keep the identity of its celebrities secret, but there’s no hiding Trejo’s unmistakable growl. And it turns out the fans were right: Trejo is the latest star to be unmasked on the hit Fox singing show.
“I’d be going to the market and somebody would say, ‘I know he’s the Raccoon!.’ I’d be like, no, didn’t you see me in ‘Heat’? I did ‘Con Air,’ I’m not the Raccoon, what’s the Raccoon! I think my best acting jobs have been in Vons Market, when women started telling me I was the Raccoon!

Part of the appeal of “The Masked Singer” is trying to figure out which famous faces are hidden beneath those masks. We nailed the identities of the first contestant from Group A who was sent packing at the end of the March 10 episode: Snail (Kermit the Frog). The rest of the contenders in Group A returned to compete again on March 24 disguised as the Porcupine, Raccoon, Russian Dolls and Seashell.
Of these famous five folks, we are most certain about who is hiding inside the Raccoon costume. On the season 5 premiere, he rocked the house with his cover of “Wild Thing” by The Troggs. We’ve watched that performance and his clues video over and over and think we’ve nailed his name. Keep reading for all “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the identity of Raccoon who is definitely not someone who makes a living as a singer. But that raspy voice was a giveaway.

Has Raccoon’s time on “The Masked Singer” come to an end? That’s what the majority of Gold Derby’s readers think, as the furry little critter has leading 57/20 odds of returning to his garbage can at the end of this week’s third episode. Raccoon will face off against fellow Group A members Robopine, Russian Dolls and Seashell on Wednesday, March 24. After all four costumes give it their all on the stage in front of a virtual audience and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong, the one with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated.

Aspiring young actors in New York in the 1960s came in many shapes and psyches. There were angry ones and cynical ones and sincere ones and intense ones. But there weren’t many joyful ones. The road was too hard and it was strewn with failure. “No one starts at the top in the theater,” Gene Hackman once said, “and the bottom is a very ugly place.”
Jon Voight was an exception. He was driven, compulsive and uneasy. But he also loved his work and his fellow actors, and he was confident that if he pushed himself hard enough and got a break or two along the way, he would succeed. The break he was waiting for was “Midnight Cowboy.”

For as much as you’ll likely grow tired of hearing the term “game-changing” in the new season of The Masked Singer, you’ve gotta admit: The descriptor is factually accurate.

Even as a diehard DC fan, I must confess that I was somewhat surprised when I first learned that Swamp Thing would be among the first shows to premiere on the DC Universe streaming service. After all, this character has mostly been a cult favorite for much of his publishing history, though a surge in pop culture notoriety did occur back in the early 1990’s.
If you’re old enough to remember, then you should recall when Swampy was fresh off two feature films and couple TV shows starring him were developed. One was a bizarre anthology-style live action series, while the other was animated – and had a goofy theme song to boot. Naturally, a toy line spawned from the latter, which was much appreciated by a seven-year-old Eric Joseph.

Kramer, who is currently on tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of the MC5’s Kick Out the Jams, called into the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast to talk about it all.

My Bloody Valentine had already been a band for five years by the time guitarist Kevin Shields found his secret weapon. After years of hopping between knockoffs of popular Fenders and Gibsons, a friend loaned him a 1964 Fender Jazzmaster – a melty, hotrod-shaped instrument with a bevy of switches and knobs and a long whammy bar mounted at its base. At the time, they’d been playing Cramps- and Pussy Galore–style heavy rock & roll, but they’d already begun transitioning into more experimental territory, which they intended to try out...

I, Tonya, an unconventional biopic about the unconventional, embattled yet iconic '90s figure skater, is based on "irony free, wildly contradictory and totally true" interviews with Tonya Harding and her one-time husband, Jeff Gillooly. (We're told as much via title card at the start of the movie.)
While the conflicting details of those discussions constitute the crux of the film, many key moments in Harding's life have played out in front of the cameras, allowing for a side-by-side comparison of actual events and as restaged by Margot Robbie as Tonya Harding. Either watch these videos before seeing I, Tonya, out now, or come back afterward to truly appreciate how closely the movie nails it.

In 1989’s Major League, Charlie Sheen played Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn, a nearly blind pitcher straight out of prison who, with some training, became both an excellent pitcher and a bit of a ladies man. It was a weirdly career defining role for Sheen, and though the actor has been through some tiger-blood infused tough times since, he still feels some sort of connection with Vaughn—or at least with the celebrity that his connection with the Cleveland Indians can bring him now that the team is in the World Series.
At least, that’s the jist of Sheen’s recent Twitter activity. He’s been tweeting a ton as the team has journeyed through the post-season, and lobbied intensely to throw out the first pitch of the first game of the Series, though the Indians shut him down in favor of an Indians legend, Kenny Lofton. Charlie Sheen thinks the World Series will go 7 games, and perhaps controversially, doesn't take a side on who he thinks is going to win it all. The actor wrote a lengthy letter published by THR in which he summarized the World Series so far, including his take on Bill Murray's now-infamous rendition of "Take Me Out To The Ball Game," and more.
Starting first with Bill Murray and his...questionable decision to do the thing as Daffy Duck, Sheen said this...
I should also mention Bill Murray's "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." As a student of the game, Bill's intro sounded like he was talking about Harry Caray, but then he goes into Daffy Duck. That doesn't sit at the doorstop of baseball's unearthed mythology. It's was... different. That's all I'm saying.

Charlie Sheen might be the most famous Cleveland Indian to have never actually played in a real game, and he made his World Series alliance clear prior to Game 2.
The 51-year-old Golden Globe winner jumped back into his Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn jersey from Major League for a video tweeted on Wednesday night before the Indians took on the Chicago Cubs at Progressive Field.
"Go tribe," Sheen says in the clip, standing in front of a screen projecting the 1989 comedy.
Sheen has been a favorite among Indians fans since playing the hotshot rookie pitcher on the big screen, leading some to push for him to throw out the first pitch for the World Series. To Sheen's disappointment, that honor went to former Indians outfielder Kenny Lofton.

The 2016 World Series began last night, and the participants were two of baseball’s most notoriously hard-luck franchises: the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians, neither of which has actually won it all in decades. A Cubs-Indians series sounds like a fantasy scenario from Hollywood, which may have been the inspiration for “Movie World Series 2016,” a clever movie mashup by Ross Taylor. Largely culling clips from two lighthearted comedies, David S. Ward’s Major League from 1989 and Daniel Stern’s Rookie Of The Year from 1993, Taylor has managed to piece together a pretty convincing game between these two continually thwarted teams. At heart, this is a pitcher’s duel featuring two of the game’s most eccentric hurlers. On the mound for the Cubs is Henry Rowengartner (Thomas Ian Nicholas), a 12-year-old with an arm like a cannon. Pitching for the Tribe is Ricky “Wild Thing ...

The Cleveland Indians have bucked all expectations this year, demolishing all American League competition to win the pennant. CBS Sports reports that the actor is ready to step back into his unofficial Cleveland Indians uniform, which he donned for two Major League films.

Since we've already done a Scream themed "Beauty vs Beast" we've decided to celebrate with another choice Neve-fest, and it don't get no choicer than John McNaughton's spectacularly sleazy 1998 thriller Wild Things. Coming as it did in the middle of Party of Five and after the first two Scream films it was a bit of a shock to watch Neve let loose with some seriously indecent behavior; it was a little less surprising coming from her co-star, the boisterously indecent Denise Richards, but no less entertaining for it. But which Wild Thing makes your heart sing...
