With so many folks out there looking for ways to keep themselves entertained at home right now, perhaps this new batch of home media releases might have something to offer you this week. If you missed it in theaters last year, the controversial Black Christmas remake hits both Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday, and Scream Factory has put together a fourth volume in their Universal Horror Collection series, which looks like a must-own for all classic genre fans out there.
Also headed to Blu this week is The Nines, which is one of my favorite underseen films from Ryan Reynolds, as well as Cannibal Apocalypse, featuring John Saxon. We also have Glenn Danzig’s Verotika coming out on Tuesday and if you need something to keep the kiddos busy, Jumanji: The Next Level should do the trick.
Other releases for March 17th include Uncaged, By Day’s End, Witch Hunters,...

It is a glorious week to be a horror fan, because we have a ton of amazing Blu-rays and DVDs heading home on Tuesday. And while there’s a lot to be excited about, on a personal note, I’m beyond thrilled that Anna and the Apocalypse is finally getting a tangible home media release, because I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to add a copy of John McPhail’s delightful musical to my own collection of movies.
Beyond that, the amazing-looking House of Hitchcock Collection arrives this Tuesday, and looks to be a must-own set for any Alfred Hitchcock fans out there. Kino Lorber is showing some love to Nightmare Beach this week with their special edition release, and Arrow Video has put together a much-deserved limited edition set for The Prey as well. We also have a few genre favorites making their 4K Ultra HD debut this week: The Shining,...

Whether he was telling stories of the living dead, the supernatural, or human monsters, filmmaker Umberto Lenzi always found a way to draw you in with his genuine enthusiasm behind the lens and a pure passion for cinema that was evident in his work. It is with great sadness, then, that we share the news of Lenzi's passing at the age of 86.
According to multiple sources, including ISTOÉ, report that Lenzi passed away at a hospital in Rome. The specific reason for his passing has not yet been shared with the public.
Lenzi's prolific career as a writer/director spanned five decades, beginning with 1958's An Italian in Greece and concluding with 1992's Mean Tricks. With a career that was truly eclectic, Lenzi made movies for a wide range of sub-genres. He took viewers into the Bond-esque world of espionage with Super Seven Calling Cairo and The Spy Who Loved Flowers,...

With a career that spanned six decades, actor Michael Parks proved time and time again that he could bring any type of character to life in believable ways. So it is with especially great sadness, that news has surfaced of Parks' passing at the age of 77.
THR shares the sad news of Parks' passing, which was confirmed to the outlet by the actor's agent, Jane Schulman. The cause of death has not been reported at this time.
Parks began a truly remarkable career in the early ’60s and never looked back, going on to appear in well over one hundred films and TV series.
A frequent collaborator of Quentin Tarantino, Parks played Texas Ranger Earl McGraw in 1996's From Dusk Till Dawn and reprised the role in Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2, Planet Terror, and Death Proof. He also appeared in Tarantino's Django Unchained.

Seeing a dude in a black motorcycle outfit with a weapon automatically makes me recall Umberto Lenzi’s flick Nightmare Beach (Welcome to Spring Break). With the new movie Rage, it’s a case of road rage gone to extremes as you can see from the effective teaser and red-band trailer that we are sharing with you. No word on a release date.
Rage is the story of a man who unknowingly provokes the wrath of a dark, mysterious, homicidal motorcyclist and must fight for his very life.

Rage From director Chris Witherspoon comes "Rage". Rage is the story of a man who unknowingly provokes the wrath of a dark, mysterious, homicidal motorcyclist and must fight for his very life. Looking at the trailer (seen below, after the jump) Rage recalls such horror efforts as Nail Gun Massacre or director Umberto Lenzi's Nightmare Beach (aka Welcome to Spring Break). Elements associated with those films were some pretty cool death sequences and a sense of fun and excitement. Hopefully, Rage can live up to that. The teaser trailer shows that Rage has that potential so hopefully it lives up to that.
In Rage, Dennis Twist a suburban 30-something unintentionally provokes the wrath of a mysterious and homicidal motorcycle rider. The confrontation with “The Biker” escalates into a day long battle of cat and mouse concluding in an extremely violent rampage. Starring in Rage is Rick Crawford (Trunk) and...
