- In the theatrical version, the film ends with a shot of Rip alone in the ring giving the "Rip 'Em!" sign before fading out to the end credits. In the original home video release, the film ends with a shot of Rip and Randy hugging each other in the ring, though the sound Rip makes as he does the "Rip 'Em!" sign is still audible before fading to the end credits. The 2012 DVD from WWE Studios restores the original theatrical closing shot.
- The UK cinema version was cut by 8 secs to remove ear claps during fight scenes. These were restored in all video releases.
- The original theatrical and laserdisc home video versions of the movie opened with the New Line Cinema logo and the text "New Line Cinema Presents," but the 2012 DVD, released and distributed by WWE Studios, removes all references to New Line Cinema. The film now opens with the WWE Studios logo, and the end credits cut out the closing New Line Cinema logo.
- Although the movie was produced by New Line Cinema, and released theatrically by them, the original VHS and Laserdisc were released by RCA/Columbia Home Video. The VHS release replaced the New Line Cinema logo at the start of the film with the RCA/Columbia Home Video logo (the audio that plays underneath it is retained). The Laserdisc release, however, left the New Line Cinema logo intact.
- German VHS retail release was cut by ca. 18 minutes to secure a "Not under 16" rating. The rental VHS was released uncut with a "Not under 18" rating.
