Not so bad

I guess I understand why this movie never was a hit but on the other hand it's not any worse than some of the award winning Danish movies produced today. Anyhow, if you love the first two Walter & Carlo movies then you might like this one.

The beginning of the movie is actually very nice but Jarl-Friis Mikkelsen just doesn't fit to the role as a tougher Carlo, not like the "smart" one were he used to be brilliant.

Some other things showing why even I don't think the movie is good:

  • The Siberian scenes doesn't look any Russian to me, though very Danish. Some of the recruits are even laughing and speaking a some very bad kind of Russian that everyone can understand is just mad up very fast.

  • Bjorn Watt-Boelsen (Christian) is usually one of my favourite artists but his character in this movie is just too silly. He's not supposed to be funny and that may be the biggest problem for most actors/actresses here.

  • The worst thing is the ending: I won't spoil your fun (?) in watching it but you can hardly find a worse way to do it.

Just a comment: My advice is that if you really like Walter & Carlo and have two bad movies, go to a second hand shop and swap them for a copy of 'Walter & Carlo i Amerika'. Don't expect too much, but it's like an Ed Wood movie in Danish. Still, I can give up hoping for a follower ;)
