Larry : Is this like assembly, sir?

Jack Merridew : And a pig

[Rapper snorts, and the other boys laugh]
Ralph : Ok, cadets, like I said, this island's probably uninhabited
Jack Merridew : But we don't know, we've gotta explore more
Ralph : Right, there's a lot of things we gotta do. But the main thing is we're not by ourselves, we've got Captain Benson
Piggy : Can I speak?
[Takes the conch from Ralph]
Piggy : The most important thing is who knows we're here? Nobody knows we're here. They know where we were going, but they don't know where we are because we never got where we were going
Larry : Where were we going?
Piggy : We were going home
Ralph : I'm sure they're out looking for us. We should set up some kind of steady signal like a fire and keep it going all the time. And we're gonna have to have rules
Jack Merridew : Can I have the conch?
[Takes the conch from Ralph]
Jack Merridew : Yes, Ralph's right, we've definitely gotta make a fire

Piggy : We might have to live here for a long time! Maybe the rest of our lives! If we are stuck here until we get old, then we can't go on acting like kids! We've gotta be sensible and make things work!
Ralph : [looking up at Roger pushing a boulder off the cliff] NOOOOO!
[the rock smacks Piggy's forehead, killing him, with blood all over his face]
Ralph : [to Jack] You're not gonna get away with this.
Jack Merridew : Yeah? And what are you gonna do, huh? What are you gonna do about it? You're out of it pal, you're on your own.

Piggy : We did everything just the way grownups would have. Why didn't it work? Things would be much better here if it wasn't for him. I wish he was dead.
Ralph : No, you don't.
Piggy : I do! We could just give up and join his tribe. Then we'd at least be with the others.
Ralph : No, Piggy.
Piggy : Ralph... I can't see.
Ralph : I know.

Jack Merridew : What won't matter?
Piggy : Whether we get rescued
Jack Merridew : You better start learning to live with yourself, because we ain't gonna get rescued
Piggy : What are you talking about?
Jack Merridew : Just being logical, a plane goes down in the middle of the ocean, there's no wreckage, who's gonna find us?
Piggy : Why don't you just shut up!
Jack Merridew : Are you telling me to shut up?
Piggy : What we need around here is positive people, not people trying to scare people!

Sam, Twin #1 : His name's not shitbrain, It's Piggy!
Jack Merridew : Yeah Piggy!
Ralph : Shut up! Everybody just shut up!
[to Piggy]
Ralph : It's just 'cause you're new
Piggy : No, it's not. It's always this way
[the other boys continue laughing]
Ralph : [to Jack] Just cut it out, ok!

Ralph : [Frustrated] If you guys hadn't let the goddamn fire go out, they woulda seen it
Jack Merridew : Hey man, we were hunting
Ralph : Great, killed a pig. Face it Jack, you fucked up! We could've been rescued!
Jack Merridew : Back off man! I'm sick of your shit and so's my gang!
Ralph : *Your* gang? What's that supposed to mean?
Jack Merridew : What it means colonel, is that if you know what's good for you, you'll stop trying to run everything!
[Jack pushes Ralph, who pushes back. Piggy then steps in to protect Ralph]
Piggy : [to Jack] Stop it!
[Jack pushes Piggy over. The hunters laugh]
Jack Merridew : I'm sick of all this shit! I'm gonna make another camp for hunters! Guys who wanna have a little fun!
Hunters : Yeah!
Ralph : Come on, Jack, that's crazy! We've gotta work together. Come on, what do you say?
Jack Merridew : I say fuck you! And that goes for you too, Miss Piggy.
[to his gang]
Jack Merridew : Come on, let's get out of this kindergarten
[Jack, Roger, Andy, Will, Rapper and Luke pick up the pig they hunted, on a stick, and walk away. John jumps off a tree to join them. Larry and Steve join them too]
Larry : I'm with you Jack
Jack Merridew : Right on, Larry.
[to Ralph's gang]
Jack Merridew : When you other brats get older or get hungry enough, you can come join us too!

Larry : Sir, are you the leader?
Eric, Twin #2 : Jack's the oldest
Pablo : But Ralph's the colonel
[group voices votes for Ralph]
Jack Merridew : I guess you just won the election.
Ralph : It doesn't matter who's in charge. We've just got to work together. First, we build a camp.

Jack Merridew : Rodge, you okay, man? That was some jump.
Roger : I got him. Right up his ass.
Sam, Twin #1 , Eric, Twin #2 , Pablo , Andy : Up the ass!
Will : Come on, cut it out!
Ralph : Stop it!
Will : You dorks, it hurt!
Sam, Twin #1 : I know it hurt.

Ralph : We came here to try and talk some sense to you!
Sheraton : You don't have the conch, doesn't matter what you say!
Piggy : The conch is in our camp where it belongs!
Jack Merridew : What's the matter, tits? Were you afraid to bring it with you? Anyway the conch doesn't count anymore, Miss Piggy-tits!
[Shoves Piggy]
Ralph : Stop that!
Jack Merridew : [Shoves Ralph] Nobody's interested in you and your fucking conch!
[Shoves Ralph again]
Jack Merridew : Why don't you take your fat friend and shove off! You've had all the meat you can eat. Come on, hunters! Roger's the pig!

Ralph : The reason I'm calling this assembly is, too many people are screwing around when they should be working! I mean there's a bunch of things, some kids don't even know when to use the bathroom!
Tony : Yeah. There's this one kid the other day, he took a shit in his pants and then sat in it, I'm not naming names because it's possible Mikey couldn't help it!

Ralph : [Crying throughout scene] What are we gonna do? Piggy, that was Simon
Piggy : What good are you doing talking about it? It was dark, we were scared
Ralph : I wasn't scared
Piggy : You were scared. Anything could have happened. It wasn't our fault
Ralph : It was. We were there, we didn't do anything about it
Piggy : There was nothing we could do, there was too many of them
Ralph : That's not the point
Piggy : It was an accident, that's what it was, a terrible accident
[the Twins arrive]
Eric, Twin #2 : Hi
Piggy : Hi
Sam, Twin #1 : We came to see if you guys have any fire
Eric, Twin #2 : Our's is out
Sam, Twin #1 : Everything's out
Eric, Twin #2 : On account of the storm. We gotta get back
Ralph : Hold on a minute, I wanna talk to you about last night
Piggy : [Sympathetically] Ralph...
Eric, Twin #2 : We left early
Eric, Twin #2 , Sam, Twin #1 : We were real tired

[Steve and Rapper are at Ralph's camp]
Piggy : So what do you want?
Steve : Jack wants the survival knife
Piggy : It's not his, it belongs to the camp!
Rapper : Yeah? Well there's a new camp now, and he wants it!
Steve : Yeah, and Tony wants his shoes and socks and all his junk
Ralph : Take Tony's stuff but you can't have the survival knife!
Piggy : He's a defector, just another damn defector
Tex : It's because of the monster
Ralph : [Angrily] I told you there's no monster! Tony knows there's no monster! Tony just wants to be a hunter is all and he's too chickenshit to come down and get his stuff himself!
Sheraton : But what if there *is* some kind of big animal?
Tex : Yeah
[Steve and Rapper walk away. Sheraton, Patterson and Tex follow them]
Piggy : [Sarcastically] Oh, great. Two more traitors!
Tex : Sorry, Ralph
Piggy : Good riddance!
[Ralph walks past Pablo and sits down, crying between his knees]

Piggy : Maybe we should just build a raft and row off
Ralph : I will if you will. Well?
Piggy : We don't really know what's out there
Ralph : I bet you out past the reef lots of boats come by every day, and one of them could rescue us
Piggy : Yeah? Well, suppose it didn't, suppose it was Russian, then what? We'd be taken prisoner
Ralph : The Russians wouldn't take us prisoner
Piggy : I don't know. Major Dingledine, my new Dad told me...
Ralph : Major Dingledine?
Piggy : Yeah. He said if the Russians invaded the U.S., they would take the kids, and separate us from our parents. And I know it sounds weird, but they might make us go into the Olympics or something like that
[Ralph laughs]
Piggy : I don't see what's so funny
Ralph : Piggy, I don't think you have to worry about the Russians forcing you into the Olympics
[Ralph continues laughing, Piggy now laughs as well]
Ralph : [Points ahead] Hey, what's that?
[They see an accordion washing upon shore. Ralph and Piggy takes it to the sand. Ralph pretends to play it, making sounds with his mouth]
Piggy : Where do you think it comes from?
Ralph : [Excited] A Russian submarine... full of Olympic athletes!
[Piggy smiles then makes sounds with his mouth]

[At nighttime, the Twins walk down the rocky slope to where Sheraton and Steve are]
Steve : About time. You guys by yourselves?
Sam, Twin #1 : Yep
Sheraton : [as he follows Steve up the rocky slope] Listen, you two, you have to stay awake, you know
Eric, Twin #2 : Give us a break!
Sam, Twin #1 : What do you think, you have to be 11-years-old or else you can't stand a dumbass watch?
Sheraton : Just stay awake
[continues walking out of sight]
Sam, Twin #1 : [to Eric] What's the big deal? There's nobody left except Ralph
Eric, Twin #2 : They're scared of the monster
Sam, Twin #1 : [Confused] You said we didn't believe in the monster, you said...?
Eric, Twin #2 : I'm pretty sure we don't
[Ralph secretly arrives]
Ralph : [Whispers] Sam... Eric... it's me
Sam, Twin #1 : You shouldn't be around here, Ralph
Eric, Twin #2 : You're not allowed. The hunter's are gonna come after you
Sam, Twin #1 : Yeah. And Jack had Roger sharpen his stick at both ends
Ralph : If that happens... it will be because *you* let it happen. If you don't stand up to him, you're just another one of his slaves
Steve : [From atop the cliff, unseen] Hey, keep alert down there!
[Ralph runs away, the Twins look very nervous]

Peter : Sir? Are we ever going home?
Ralph : Of course we are. As soon as they see our signal
Peter : Jack says that we're never going to be rescued
Ralph : No, you misunderstood him, that's not what he meant
Jack Merridew : That's *exactly* what I meant. There's 8 million islands around here, why should they find this one?
Ralph : [Quietly to Peter] Don't listen to him. We will be rescued, Peter, honest

[Luke is spear fishing. At the top of a cliff, Jack, Roger and Rapper playfully chuck rocks at the water next to Luke]
Ralph : Hey, cut it out!
[Jack, Roger and Rapper still throw the rocks]
Ralph : Are you crazy? Stop it!
[the 3 boys each chuck their final rock]
Eric, Twin #2 : [to Pablo] Do you know why Jack got sent to Military School? Because he was in trouble
Pablo : Who says?
Eric, Twin #2 : Tony. Jack told him he took a car and drove it on the highway
Pablo : He's a liar. He didn't steal a car
Sam, Twin #1 : He didn't say he stole it, he just borrowed it. And the neighbour was away and he just like borrowed it and drove it on the highway
Pablo : He probably borrowed his Dad's bicycle and road it around the block
Eric, Twin #2 : Then how come he got arrested?
Sam, Twin #1 : Yeah, by the highway patrol?
Eric, Twin #2 , Sam, Twin #1 : They got him doing 80!
[Luke successfully spear fishes out a blowfish. Pablo and the Twins are grossed out]

[the boys are trying to make the first signal fire. Jack is trying to use sticks]
Ralph : Here, let me try
Jack Merridew : I got it, I got it. Shit! Damn! Mother...
Piggy : Swearing won't help
Jack Merridew : [Shoves Piggy] Listen Piggy! Shut your fat ass!
Ralph : Hold it! Hold it! Hey, wait a minute. Piggy give me your glasses
[Ralph takes the glasses off of Piggy's face]
Piggy : Hey, give 'em back!
Ralph : Trust me
Piggy : What are you doing?
[Ralph uses the lens to focus the sunlight on the wood. Moments later a fire starts, but it goes out of control]

[During the night, a helicopter flies to the island]
Ralph : They're back! Simon, they're back!
[But the helicopter passes them then blows up above the ocean. The boys are horrified. Another one of Simon's dreams, he wakes up, to the trees falling over]
Ralph : [to Simon] Are you alright? It's only a storm

[the boys are looking for the Pilot. They find his clothes stuck between some boulders next to the sea]
Simon : Look!
[Grabs the clothes]
Ralph : It's nobody's fault, Simon, he just didn't know what he was doing
Simon : I don't think he's what you think, I don't think he's dead
Ralph : Why not?
Simon : Where are his shoes? We've gotta keep looking
Ralph : He just swam out in 'em
Simon : [Confused] And his belt? He left his pants, and swam out in his shoes and belt?
Ralph : He was crazy, Simon

Sam, Twin #1 : Do you think the other guys are ok?
Eric, Twin #2 : Who cares?
Sam, Twin #1 : Ok, dork, I was just asking!
Ralph : We should relight the fire

[Ralph and Jack are walking together down a beach]
Ralph : I don't know if he can hold up, I mean what if he suddenly gets really sick?
Jack Merridew : Man, you've gotta stop worrying so much, we got it made. No parents, no teachers, no academy, no girls. Of course, I wouldn't mind getting a little every now and then
Ralph : [Sarcastically] Like you ever got any
Jack Merridew : Well, I still wouldn't mind
[Jack pushes Ralph over, Ralph then does the same to Jack, playfully, then Jack pushes Ralph over again and Ralph lands on his cast]
Ralph : My arm!
Jack Merridew : You okay?
[But Ralph was just pretending, and kicks Jack down]
Ralph : Psyche!
[Both boys laugh. Then cut to Ralph and Jack in the jungle looking for the pig. Jack has a knife. They see the pig, and Jack quickly charges, but the pig gets away]
Jack Merridew : [Frustrated] Nearly got him. Next time
[Jack whacks a branch with the knife]
