- Harry Dobbs is a private detective with a gravelly voice and friendly disposition. He's hired by the secretive and vampish miss Dolan to follow her shady boyfriend. Harry soon discovers that the man is a bigamist with not one but two secret families. Harry tries to learn more about these other women in the man's life by talking to them incognito. One of them is Mrs. Ellen McGraw, who's seriously unhappy with her marriage and has a thing for Art, the farmhand, who actually appreciates her. On the other hand, there's Mrs. King, who refuses to hear anything bad about her husband and burns with the flame of a zealot. Harry also realizes that he's being followed by another P.I. - Stella Wynkowski, who was hired by his insanely jealous girlfriend to find out if he's two-timing on her. He likes Stella and tries to romance her. However, things get complicated when miss Dolan vanishes. Harry and Stella agree to team up to find out what's going on here. In the end it turns out that things were significantly simpler than previously thought.
