- A man is seen in a swimming pool. A few seconds later, he swims off, and you see that he is swimming nude.
- At the start of the second film, a woman lies dead on a table with full frontal nudity; breasts clearly seen very close up.
Violence & Gore

- When the detectives come into the house, they go downstairs and see a graphic image (for a few seconds) of the dead guy's head (thoroughly rotted) and extremely gross looking.
- A metronome (used to hypnotize people) is planted firmly and bloodily in a sleeping man's chest. Blood splatters everywhere.
- At the end of the first movie, two detectives explore a hotel; one is sent to get reinforcements. The other investigates a little more and is surprised by a disgusting looking zombie who comes at him. The detective shoots at the zombie, splattering blood across the dollar bills lying scattered around, and the movie ends.
- A pile of severed body parts lying in a bloody pile and a dead woman with nasty looking cuts on her.
- A man pulls a lever, and a gigantic blade-like thing starts swinging back and forth with a nice clean cut through the chest of the woman. Graphically shown, is the interior of the woman's body.
- A man shown at a cemetery with the police - he had just witnessed the funeral of his cousin - he had pulled out all 32 of her teeth. Open mouth of cousin shown.
- Strikes a cat on the neck with a saw, blood shown dripping down from the sawblade.
- A man uses an ice ax to chop two detectives down, blood goes everywhere.
- A man hangs himself.

- Who the Hell, Fuck, Fucking (said several times in 15 seconds) while the main character is drinking.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Jessica smokes cigarettes frequently in the first story.
- There is a lot of hard liquor drinking in this film (drunk in an effort to calm people down).
- A woman takes some medicinal pills to calm her down.
- A man is shown drinking and smoking in a pub outside of a church.
- A man drinks out of a bottle of vodka because he's mad at the cat.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- Throughout this film, it is THRILLER to a very high degree.
- A man is shown taunting his wife's pet cat. He later admits to having caught the cats tail in the door 'by accident'. Later on he is shown photographing the cat in different angles - meaning, physically twisting and scrunching the cat's face into various shapes for photography purposes. Quite disturbing for animal lovers.
- A man is shown strangling a black cat with a piece of wire.
- NOTE: Quote from film: "The American Human Association has certified that the live animals used in "The Black Cat" suffered no physical or psychological abuse".

Sex & Nudity
- After they finish getting the old guy's signature, they kind of undress and hop into bed with each other... but its easy to tell when to switch to another screen and when you can look back again, no surprises.
- Jessica now dead is lying facing away from the camera with legs exposed, but a flap of her dress tastefully covers her private areas.
- In the medaeval cat killing ceremony/dream , his wife was wearing a loose dress which was cut down the center so you could see her whole naked chest (breasts/private areas covered by the dress).
Violence & Gore
- Very graphic & realistic scene of a man strangling a cat. This scene is extremely disturbing.
- A woman uses a revolver to shoot holes in the head of her hypnotized dead husband
- The 'others' re-animate the corpse of her husband and make him walk towards Jessica. She shoots a bunch of holes in his head. Then offscreen, he kills her. She drops bloodily down from the ceiling upon the flood in front of her boyfriend.
- A man grabs a butcher knife and begins chopping his wife up. He slices slowly across her outstretched hand then whacks her on the neck, killing her. He hauls her to the bathtub, and fills it up. It becomes murky and you can't see her anymore.
- The wall is ripped down and his wife's decaying corpse with several kittens dripping in goo and decaying human flesh are shown.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- A very old man is being coerced into signing away his estate to a scheming woman (his wife) and his wife's boyfriend. The old man eventually dies and is stuck into the freezer for safe storage.
- The old man is not dead, even though he is completely frozen, he is groaning from the freezer in the basement at odd times of the night/day. You see, he is in a hypnotized trance even though he is dead, he is still hypnotized. This is very scary.
- The dead man laughs down at Jessica's boyfriend. He 'wakes up' the dead guy, but is informed that the evil spirits are now in the real world.
- While Jessica's boyfriend lies sleeping in a hotel, the windows blow open and the dead start walking in. This can be quite frightening to younger children.
- He had killed the cat, and in his dream, he dreamt of a medaeval ceremony in which he was determined as the killer by his wife. A bunch of monks tied him up and then a monk ran a sharpened wooden stick through his anus and up through his mouth. Blood shown, but mainly scary because of the manner of death.
