Three beautiful women, and a lot of senseless violence
unbrokenmetal15 November 2002
A good question is why this movie is sold under the title "Dragon Force" in Germany - I didn't spot any dragons ;-) "Death Triangle" tells the story of two police investigators (Cynthia Khan as Yang and Moon Lee as Li). They have always been good friends, but fall in love with the same man. He marries Yang, which drives Li insane. She kills the guy and makes sure all clues will lead the police to the conclusion that Yang did it. Yang escapes from the police, and the only one she can ask for help is a car thief she once arrested and obviously isn't very fond of her. This car thief named Coco is played by Cynthia Luster, and she performs totally over the top, almost like a funny sidekick, but tragedy strikes as her little son is kidnapped by Li. Yang and Coco unite in order to to rescue the boy, kill Li and - if possible - prove Yang innocent.

Interesting and unusual role for Cythia Luster, same goes for evil Moon Lee. Clearly a case of anti-typecasting which makes the movie more interesting than the average HK action spoof. I enjoyed it, so if you don't mind watching three beautiful ladies and a lot of senseless violence ;-) give it a try. (Voted 6/10)

HK action at its best!!
franca28417 July 2008
as the poster before me, I have no idea why the "german" title of the movie was changed to DRAGON FORCE ?!

1st of all, there're no dragons ...

2nd, why change an English title to a different English title, that makes no sense at all ?! at least translate it into German, IF you HAVE to translate it at all !?

The movie itself has always been one of my favorite HK movies of all times! Cynthia Khan is definitely my favorite HK actress.

The movie itself couldn't be any better. Lots of action, blood, more action, and in the midst of all, 3 beautiful women ! ;o)

MY all time favorite !!!

9/10 ... just because I cannot find the DVD anywhere *hihi*

peace out

Should have been so much more

Warning: Spoilers
YES MADAM! A SERIOUS SHOCK! is an unwieldy addition to the girls-with-guns genre which was wowing Hong Kong audiences from the mid 1980s onwards. By the time of the 1990s the budgets for these films were dropping along with the quality, and it certainly shows in this one. It should be irresistible, with a cast comprising a trio of high-kicking heroines in the lithe forms of Cynthia Khan, Yukari Oshima and Moon Lee, and a plot indebted to Hollywood's psycho-thriller genre. But the execution turns out to be entirely pedestrian, and there are lots of scenes in the middle which simply add nothing to the production except confusion and disorientation (mostly those involving Waise Lee's character). The action is in short supply, too, only picking up at the very end. On the plus side the actresses are always fun to watch and there are supporting turns from genre personalities like Eric Tsang, Fung Hark-on and Ku Feng, but given the talent involved this should have been so much more.
