Okay early on, but the joke gets old at some point

"Das Fest des Huhnes" is an Austrian mockumentary movie from 1992, so this one has its 25th anniversary this year. It was written and directed by the late filmmaker Walter Wippersberg, probably his most known work. It is only 55 minutes long and is set in tone as an European/American documentary discovering the African countries and people and tribes. The only difference here is that the camera crew is African and the strange tribe are the Austrians. So yeah, now you know what to expect here in terms of the comedy and this is basically the same joke for the entire thing. It worked for 15-20 minutes max and then it got stale and repetitively unfunny. On a more positive note, this film actually really offers something in terms of a movie that people can watch if they plan to spend their next holidays in Austria. For example, the skull collection was an interesting addition. But this is really all the positive I can say. The party scenes are so exaggerated in here in terms of quantity that 4 stars out of 10 is really the limit for this one. Wippersberg did fine in keeping this one short, but he was far from keeping it short enough.
