John Legend is a pro when it comes to romance, but the birth of his daughter, Luna, taught him entirely new lessons about love.
“It’s a different kind of love,” the proud dad explained to Stephen Colbert on Tuesday’s show. “It’s very pure, it’s unconditional, but they haven't earned it yet.”

“Their existence,” Colbert finished.
“Their existence!” Legend agreed.

Hope springs eternal. Each time an underdog character actor pushes into surprise Oscar contention, it brings back the hope that anything is possible. Especially when a micro-indie boasts an Oscar-nominee, publicists send movie scribes pitches like this one (pasted below), for a live-action short starring Sally Kirkland, who famously landed a nomination for Anna by taking out her own ads. One note to publicists: "surefire" is the one word you should never use in a pitch. Rob Liefeld wants his "Deadpool" movie, and he wants it now.
When we spoke with Liefeld earlier in the month about his thoughts on the developing "Deadpool" adaptation, he made no secret about his frustration over Fox's handling of the Ryan Reynolds-starring comic book flick. But even if "Deadpool" hasn't stepped up to the starting line just yet, Liefeld isn't giving up hope on the mouthy merc's silver-screen chances.
Over at his official website, Liefeld has laid out a wish list of candidates to direct the "Deadpool" film. His list consists of five (technically seven) filmmakers, ranging from the Wachowski siblings to Joe Carnahan to "Samurai Jack" creator Genndy Tartakovsky, the Russian-American animator who pitched in with storyboards for "Iron Man 2."
"This guy directs the very best animation and has been doing it for over a decade," Liefeld surmised of Tartakovsky's qualifications. "Tartakovsky is a one of the kind talent,...

New York — The "American Idol" stars aligned Friday night (February 12), as Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen took the stage for an exclusive live event.
Ryan Seacrest's "Rock My Town" concert brought out hundreds of lucky ticket winners, all of whom braved the cold for hours to make sure they got the best possible spot in the intimate Highline Ballroom.
Performing in the order in which they were eliminated during the eighth season of "Idol," fiery-haired Allison Iraheta rocked out first in a dizzying set that showed off her raspy pipes and her criminally overlooked pop/rock songs.
Iraheta — in two punky pigtails and a black-and-white rocker-chic dress — and her enthusiastic four-piece band ripped through fan favorites like "Holiday,...

He's a rock star already.
I want to say upfront, I like Adam Lambert, and I like the disc. I plan on buying it, and I figure it will be in heavy rotation for the holiday season on my iPhone. That said, I wish I felt more like I was listening to Adam, who has the potential to be a groundbreaking artist musically, and less like I was listening to a less original Adam do knock-offs of other bands.
So who does he remind me of? Well, it’s not just one artist, and that’s probably what makes the album as a whole so enjoyable. He maintains that chameleon voice he showcased on American Idol, slipping into different artist's shoes, and not necessarily the artist he was collaborating with on a given track.
"You make me want to listen to 'Music again'" seems like a bold assertion to lead...

I've added a new subset to my overwhelming American Idol addiction, and it focuses solely on the contestants of season 8! Indeed, thanks to the vocal firepower of Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, and Allison Iraheta (not to mention Anoop Desai, #signmattgiraud, Mishavonna Henson, and Deanna Brown), there's so much news and music and awesomeness making its way to the Internet that some days I barely have time to get out of my pajamas. (For the record, I type this clad in Old Navy sleep bottoms and a promotional jersey I received from the publicist for Fox's Brothers, a show I have never seen.

Stock up on water, hide your children and do not look directly at its bright shimmering light, because 30-second song previews of have hit the Web. Pop music will never be the same!
Ok, so there's some hyperbole there. (Blame my inner Glambert for taking over.) So before I start claiming his body parts, let's put on sci-fi lab-coats and break down the song previews in a (somewhat) level-headed manner.
» "Music Again"
The album kicks off with what sounds like will be my favorite Adam Lambert song, penned by Justin Hawkins of the Darkness. It's got "Bohemian Rhapsody" harmonies, an AC/DC-inspired guitar riff and boastful lyrics that have the "Idol" runner-up deservedly planting his freak flag into pop culture's landscape. "There've been many moons before I met you/ And I ain't going nowhere," he snarls. Damn straight! Welcome to the party, Adam. You came just in time. (Bonus: As the snippet fades out,...
