Sex & Nudity

  • A male cat's testicles are visible briefly.
  • One cat implies another one has been "crossing the gay scene"
  • A male cat answers to the call of a female cat in heat. The animals are seen mating for a couple of minutes. Near the end of the scene, she entices him to mate with her again. He does, but it is offscreen.
  • There are paintings of men and women having sex on the wall of a house. They are shown a few times.
  • References to sex and a cat's genitalia.

Violence & Gore

  • This movie is graphic and violent.
  • Two cat corpses are seen with their throats torn out. One has a puddle of blood under it, and the other has a blood covered enlarged hole in the middle of its neck.
  • A female cat's body is seen torn apart. It and her head are shown separately in huge pools of blood. We see a brief shot of her head with her eyes wide open and blood all around it. This scene is upsetting and difficult to watch.
  • A cat chases some rats in a basement. He grabs one with his mouth and slams it to the floor. A little blood spatter can be seen. A much larger cat jumps through a window and squishes one of them to death. Little blood is shown.
  • A cat is thrown around by a large cat, across a basement when he grabs him by the scruff of his neck with his mouth. When two cats are about to attack him, he lunges forth and scratches a hole in one of their sides. Blood is shown for a second.
  • The chase ends as Francis comes across the pregnant body of a female cat with her throat torn, stomach ripped open, and kitten fetuses strewn out of her womb. Extremely nasty and really hard to watch.
  • A video is shown of two men performing scientific experiments on cats. One of the animals bleeds from its head after a man puts a drop of acid on it. He takes the fur off the head of another cat, exposing its skin, cuts it with a scalpel and puts a drop of the liquid onto it like he did with the last one. We see the cat's head burn open as blood spurts out and its brain is seen, causing it to die.
  • Cats' bodies and skeletons are seen in an underground tomb.
  • A cat is seen lying dead in a room. Blood spatter is on his face and the side of his front left leg.
  • A cat is attacked by another cat in the shadows. Crashing is heard. He is shown afterward, lying in a pool of blood.

Profanity

  • Strong language is used frequently (including "fuck" and "shit"), but not throughout. A character is referred to as a "smart ass" several times.
  • One character swears heavily in every scene he is in.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man drinks heavily, but he is only in the film for a short time.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Gory and violent.
  • People who love cats will be very upset by this movie.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A scene depicts a cult-like group of cats in the attic of the house. They are engaging in a ritualistic suicide using electricity. Several cats die in this scene. Though this scene isn't bloody or gory, it is very disturbing and shows a pile of dismembered cultists on the floor.
  • The main protagonist has two frightening nightmares; In the first one, he is chained by a faceless man and whipped around, hitting his head on the ceiling and causing a blood splat. The second one, in particular, depicts him in a field of dead cats. Almost all of them are bloody. A scientist emerges from the pile of corpses, and plays with them using puppet strings, swinging them around and blood comes out of their corpses. This scene is beyond disturbing, and could probably scare viewers.
  • Two cats fight to the death near the end of the film. One gets his ear torn and it shown bleeding for a second. He then disembowels the murderer and kills him. There is a great deal of blood in this scene. The killer's lungs, intestines and rib cage spill out.
