Sex & Nudity

  • Freddy's claw comes up from a car seat and touches a man's crotch, however the glove disappears, the man then proceeds to scratch his crotch (through his jeans)

Violence & Gore

  • A woman slashed across the back then dragged around a room by Freddy, leaving a bloody trail. He then breaks her neck. A pretty intense scene, as she was a sympathetic character.
  • A mechanical prop of Freddy's knife hand comes to life and stabs a man in the throat, killing him. Bloody. It then jumps on another man and embeds its blades in his chest, causing blood to squirt and spray out. Bloody.
  • Freddy's arm pops out of a car seat and rips the driver's chest open. Bloody. The car crashes killing the driver, who was a sympathetic character.
  • In the opening scene, a man chops off his own hand, and replaces it with a mechanical hand with knives in its fingers. It is quickly revealed that this is actually a movie being filmed, as we see the set's background and special effects machines pumping blood.
  • Many nightmare sequences that are intense and scary. This movie has a creepy atmosphere throughout.

Profanity

  • The movie used the word bitch and fuck a few times. Forceful one from Heather.
  • Two aggressive uses of the word "fuck!"
  • Two uses of the word "Fuck." Used as "Fuck You!" in an aggressive tone and "sick fuck" as a taunt.
  • Mild for a slasher.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Legal over-the-counter and hospital pills/drugs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Freddy Krueger is very much scarier in this film than in others. Except the first one. His appearance is altered to appear more demonic, including his finger-knives which are now embedded into his fingers. Additionally, he no longer cracks one-liners and is much more serious in nature.
  • A stuffed dinosaur is killed with stuffing all over the room. Can be emotional
  • One of the more serious and scary Nightmare on Elm Street films.
  • The scene in which Dylan is crossing the busy freeway and both he and mother are almost hit by several cars is intense. Heather does get hit in one scene and goes mad trying to get him out of there.
  • The idea of Dylan's father and Heather's husband being killed in an accident may be upsetting for some.
  • The idea of something bad happening to your child may be upsetting for mothers in particular.
