One of France's Best Cinema Exports, but not available to buy or rent

I viewed this excellent film three times at film festivals and cannot understand why it was never distributed. It has action, drama, great characters and storyline. The cinematography is amazing and the directors vision was fully realized through the lens. You can watch this film and not understand a word of French and the impact would be the same. I was riveted from the first frame to the last. When I first saw it the film community was speaking of Quentin Tarrentino's genius film, "Pulp Fiction", after viewing both films I would say that Henri Barges is the French Tarrentino. It's awful that he is only doing commercials, he has the vision of Sorcese.

dark, disturbing, and wonderful

i thought this film was realy great and im amazed to see it here. I saw it at a film festival in san jose, ca. I have always wanted to get this film on video so if anyone has any leads let me know. The film revolves around an abused woman whos final escape leads her down a road she could never have imagined and neither can we the audience. The plot unravels itself from her perspective as she writes down the story on her naked body in a room somewhere. Im not gonna tell you anymore than that except to say it was emotionaly powerful and i would recommend it to anyone who likes dark and powerful films.

I saw this film at the Seattle International Film Festival back in '95 (I think), where it was voted one of the worst of the fest by the full season pass-holders. I personally LOVED it, and voted it one of the best. It was sad, funny, deep, and overall exceedingly strange. It's been over a decade since I've seen it, and I still think of it often.

Oh, won't someone release it on video?!?!? This and Akumulátor 1 by Jan Sverak are two of the best films I ever saw at SIFF, and neither one has ever been released on video (in the US at least).

Other faves that finally did get released to DVD: Careful by Guy Maddin and The Kingdom by Lars von Trier.
