The Survivor 46 cast members have given some hot takes ahead of their upcoming season.
CBS released the cast bios last week, letting fans see who is playing the game this spring.
These 18 new castaways filmed their season last summer, but now they will get their time in the spotlight.
The season premiere arrives on Wednesday, February 28, with a two-hour presentation.
CBS is also treating fans with a two-hour episode during the second week.
That’s a great way to introduce the new castaways and the new twists that host Jeff Probst has helped prepare.

First things first, we love Survivor. It has been one of the most exciting and compelling reality competition series on television since its first season in Borneo in 2000. However, because we admire Survivor so much, we acknowledge that the show needs some format changes. And Carson Garrett mastering the tree puzzle in Survivor 44 Episode 6 confirms our demand for producers to retire (some) old challenges.

The Survivor 44 cast entered “mergatory” in episode 6, where they lived on the same beach but had to earn their merge buffs.
At the Immunity Challenge, host Jeff Probst split them into two random teams. The winners would receive immunity, the merge buffs, and be rewarded with the merge feast. The losers would return to camp with nothing, and one would leave at the next Tribal Council. And even though...

See the complete list of nominees below.
The 87th Annual Drama League Awards will be streamed on Friday, May 21 at 7 pm Et.

Ace anthology series Inside No. 9 returns next week for its third run. Here’s what its creators had to say at the press launch…
Having made audiences wince at characters put through all manner of horrors—murder, suicide, demonic possession—sadism would seem a fair accusation to level at Inside No. 9’s creators. It doesn’t stand of course, because the show’s so good that it’s all pleasure and no pain. Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith don’t seek to make people suffer in writing the series. “I wouldn’t say that’s what we enjoy, we’re not sadists!” Pemberton laughs at the series three press launch. “For us, it’s all about the narrative and taking that half-hour we have for each episode and weaving the story that takes you on the biggest journey.”

One of the overlooked outcomes of last week’s election is the growth of the marijuana legalization movement. Buying, possessing and using the stuff is going to be legal for adults in Massachusetts, Nevada, California and Maine – as it is now in Colorado, Alaska, Washington State, Washington D.C., and Oregon. Over 20 percent of Americans reside in states where such use by adults is legal. In over half of these United States, weed is kosher for medicinal use.
First Fun Fact: A few years ago, the Heeb Magazine website informed us that, properly handled, cannabis is indeed kosher. That should popularize the Passover herb plate.
Second Fun Fact: If not for weed, we might not have our direct sales comic book distribution system. Back in the mid-60s, we started seeing retail outlets called “head shops” pop up all over this great nation. These places were sort of like today...

The Eisner Awards, the "Oscars of Comics" have announced their nominations for the current season (they follow more of a Tony Awards timetable) and the results are heavy on Image comics with Marvel scoring in the top "continuing series" category with the current run of Hawkeye. Maybe there's hope for Jeremy Renner's unloved movie hero after all? Or maybe not. It's up against last year's winner Saga.
I want to share two categories that have particular appeal to us here at Tfe. They have an adapted category (which sometimes pulls from movies) and a digital comics category and you know I keep trying to start one though admittedly I never fully commit.

The cast of Inside No 9 have put a slightly deflated balloon containing the breath of Steve Pemberton up for auction on eBay.
The last episode of the dark anthology series saw a group of people plan to auction off a famous musician's breath caught in a balloon.
Now, actor Pemberton is at the centre of a real eBay listing - titled "A balloon containing the breath of Steve Pemberton" - and he confirmed the item was genuine by posting a video of him blowing up the balloon.
Proceeds from the auction go to the 'Give It Up' fund, part of Sport Relief.
The fund was set up by Russell Brand to help develop abstinence-based community support for people leaving drug and alcohol treatment.
In addition, the auction winner will receive a poster for 'Last Gasp', the episode of Inside No. 9 in which the balloon appears, signed by...

Steven Gerrard scored a 90th minute penalty as Liverpool left it late to beat Fulham and move within four points of Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Fulham led twice through a Kolo Toure own-goal and Kieran Richardson’s first of the season, but Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho and Gerrard ensured Brendan Rodgers’ team engineered a comeback.
Liverpool may have started Saturday’s victory over Arsenal on fire but it was Fulham who began the match brightly at Craven Cottage, Ryan Tunnicliffe drawing a good save from Simon Mignolet and Dan Burn heading just over from a corner.
The home side deservedly took the lead after 8 minutes, former Arsenal defender Toure slicing Richardson’s tame cross into his own net from inside the six-yard box.

Jack Colback’s deflected effort at the death rescued an unlikely point for basement club Sunderland at managerless Cardiff City. Goals from Fraizer Campbell and Jordon Mutch looked to have won a relegation six-pointer for the hosts. Steven Fletcher came off the bench to score the first of two late strikes for the Black Cats, however.
Referee Chris Foy booked Mutch in the first minute for a dive in the area when Sunderland centre back Valentin Roberge pulled out of a tackle. Mutch then headed over from Craig Noone’s centre as Cardiff started strongly.
With five minutes played the hosts went ahead. Campbell set Mutch away and his 20-yard shot deflected past Vito Mannone off Modibo Diakite. The Black Cats keeper then had to claw over from Korean midfielder Kim.
Mannone was almost caught out on 25 minutes when Peter Whittingham curled a free kick to the near post.

Michael Douglas as Liberace
On Sunday night, HBO reminded us what “appointment television” really means when they premiered Steven Soderbergh‘s Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra smack in the middle of Memorial Day weekend. Never mind that the time slot is generally reserved for the aggressively masculine Game of Thrones (one can only imagine how many unsuspecting jaws hit the floor when fans of the show tuned in for boobs and beheadings and instead got Jason Bourne giving it to Gordon Gecko) – for one night only, the legendary opulence of pop culture’s reigning king of rhinestone and denial owned the airwaves. Like many of you, I would not have missed it for the world.
Based on his memoirs, Candelabra tells the story of Scott Thorson (Matt Damon), a bisexual Hollywood animal wrangler who became friend, lover, and confidant to Liberace (Michael Douglas) at the height of his ivory-tinkling, cape-swanning fame.

Jack Sargeant, director of the Revelation Perth International Film Festival, has co-curated a photography show with Linsey Gosper that will have its opening at the Alaska Projects gallery in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday, August 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
While the show is untitled, it has been colloquially named “Atrocity Exhibitions” and will feature photographs by a number of underground filmmakers and other artists. The show will be on display from the 21st to the 26th.
Inspired by the experimental novel by J G Ballard The Atrocity Exhibition, this photography show will explore “the emergence of new manifestations of the psychosexual unconscious.” The images document unusual fetishes and unleashed urges that emerge “from the collusion of urban zones and economics, amputated urges and personal explorations of seduction and desire.”
Artists represented in the show include transgressive filmmaker Usama Alshaibi and underground icon Lydia Lunch, as well as work by Romain Slocombe,...

The Deep comes to an end, Burn Notice season 3 starts in the UK, The Bill finishes for good and there are some cracking movies too...
We start our lead into the bank holiday weekend with news of a series start-up for a show we watch week on week, but haven't covered much in these pages. Burn Notice launches into its third season on these shores on Wednesday, September 1st with Friends And Family on FX at 10:00pm.
Michael Westen the burned special ops spy's story is a continuing saga, so to see where things left off, first watch season 2's finale, Lesser Evil, tonight, Friday August 27th at 11:00pm on FX and you'll be prepped for what's next for Michael, Mom, Fiona and Sam Axe, a classically heroically fabricated name if ever we heard one and he's played by Geek favourite, Bruce Campbell.
If The Deep hasn't given you that sinking feeling (yes,...

Blur’s beta has been out for a few weeks now, and a lot of us have been enjoying it. When it was released, players were allowed to work their way up to rank 10, unlocking cars and abilities while doing so.
As many people noticed though, one of the tips while loading a race stated that the beta would let you get to rank 15.
Tomorrow, Thursday the 25th, that will be possible. Doing so will allow you to unlock a few extra things.
Here are the full details from the release:
Hello!
Activision and Bizarre Creations are announcing that the Blur™ multiplayer beta program has been a tremendous success and would like to thank all those who have been playing and providing feedback by extending the experience and increasing the current multiplayer rank cap from 10 to 15 on Thursday, March 25, 2010. With this increase, players will now have the ability to unlock new cars,...

Whether it’s a musical sting, the wet snap of a bone, a head rolling down stairs or simple silence, the right sound at the right moment can levitate a fright flick into ghastly greatness. Even if a film as a whole isn’t awe-inspiring, brilliant sound design in just one scene of a stinker can turn it into a genre fan favorite for all time...
The following list is compiled in no particular order, so no need for hurt feelings over a film’s allotted number. Now, from classics to crap and dialogue to death rattles, let’s revisit some of the freakiest sounds in horror history! This is just 50-25 (Part 1) of the list. We will update with (Part 2) so stay tuned!
Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead For Certain Films. Proceed With Caution!

Some weeks are like this, Internet: you struggle to fill your largely ignored weekly comic book column with new, interesting releases that aren’t tie ins to crossovers or being made into movies, but some weeks you just clutter the week with Batman. And that’s okay, because Batman is awesome and superhero comics are good. The world just shouldn’t revolve around them. But this week they can, because two awesome Batman books are coming out in the same week. Batman, Batman, Batman.
Welcome to This Week in Comics, where every day is a comic book. And many days are Batman.
Monday
First Issues
Robocop #1

Tuesday

Barefoot Gen Volume 9: Breaking Down Borders & Barefoot Gen Volume 10: Never Give Up
(Keiji Nakazawa)

There may be a few subtle differences in the British Academy voters' choices, but make no mistake, the evidence screams that the usual suspects will be in the Oscars lineup
The Bafta nominations are out this morning and by God if there's not a consensus emerging. Just four days after the Golden Globes played out in Los Angeles, we are again treated to the sight of industry voters marching in happy, harmonious lockstep. Sure enough, Avatar, Up in the Air, The Hurt Locker and Precious are all shortlisted for the best picture Bafta. All must now be considered the frontrunners for Oscar glory in March … and in that order too.
Comparing the Baftas with the Globes is a little like playing one of those "spot the difference" photo games. At first glance they look identical. Then, gradually, subtle differences emerge. Certain elements have vanished and others have been shoehorned in.

Not long ago, Dubai emerged as a symbol of crazed civic ambition, a once-quiet desert burg suddenly superheated by cheap capital. That's over.
Deserts have a way of reclaiming whatever is built upon them. In the case of Dubai, on the Persian Gulf, the global financial implosion has sent that process into overdrive. After six years of frenzied expansion, during which the emirate's population grew at 7% annually and nearly $600 billion went into construction (the world's tallest building! the world's largest shopping mall! the biggest man-made island! an indoor ski resort!), reality has come rushing into view.
"They have no oil, no culture, no history," says Peter Harradine, a prominent landscape architect in Dubai and manager of Harradine Golf. "So what they have been able to produce is a miracle." Or was it a mirage? Today, an estimated 50% of the slated developments are frozen or canceled. Banks have stopped lending. Housing...

Tony Shenton has been hired by Boom! Studios to represent their trade paperback and hardcover lists to comic books stores and other specialty stores across the nation.
"Tony brings a personal touch that you just don't see anymore in the comic book industry. As the former buyer for Meltdown Comics, one of the largest stores on the West Coast, I loved working with Tony because he was an important advocate for new material and getting those products into the retail channel," said Boom! Studios Managing Editor Matt Gagnon in a release. "Boom! wants to give comic book retailers as many ways to buy our books as possible. Partnering up with Tony is all about giving retailers a choice."
One of the few people to make a career of selling directly on behalf of publishers to comic shops and other select businesses, Tony has managed to survive for nearly 16 years on commissions alone.

Simon Webbe was forced to confront his fear of water in order to complete the Last Gasp task on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!. The singer grabbed six out of seven underwater stars with his mouth and returned them to a base bubble within the allotted six-minute period. Oscar fish, eels and crocodiles conspired to hamper his progress, as well as his own fear of water. "I don't swim at all but didn't want to say anything in camp. This is the whole part of the show, getting over your fears," he told Ant and Dec before the challenge began. Webbe, who said he was dedicating the task to his daughter, dived in and successfully retrieved the first star. He held his breath in the base bubble (more)...
