Adaption of the novel "The Twin Brother" by Barbara Noack.
Julie Engelbrecht was 11 years old at the time of filming. She recalls that her mother Constanze Engelbrecht said to her they were looking for a girl who could play a role as a child for this film. At first she didn't want to go to the casting because at the time she felt it was a kind of test. "My mom just put the script under my pillow and when I went to bed I discovered it. Secretly, with a flashlight under the covers, I read it through in one go. The next morning I told my mother that I wanted to go to the casting."-she says. It was her first film.
Julie Engelbrecht is of French and German ancestry.
