“Thru the Time Barrier, 552 years Ahead… Roaring To the Far Reaches of Titanic Terror, Crash-Landing Into the Nightmare Future!” … and as Daffy Duck says, “And it’s good, too!” Allied Artists sends CinemaScope and Technicolor on a far-out timewarp to a place where the men are silly and the women are… very female. Hugh Marlowe stars but the picture belongs to hunky Rod Taylor and leggy Nancy Gates.

Luke Perry's son, Jack Perry, is going into the entertainment business, but he's not necessarily following in his dad's footsteps.
According to ProWrestlingSheet.com, the 50-year-old former Beverly Hills, 90210 star cheered on his 19-year-old son from the stands at a wrestling match on Saturday.

Jack, who wrestles under the name "Jungle Boy" Nate Coy, is seen sporting a lion's mane of hair and black shorts while taking on his opponent in video footage from Pro Wrestling Sheet.
Jack's proud dad went incognito in a hat and casual clothing to film the event on his cell phone, as Jack took the brunt of some acrobatic slams in the wrestling ring, while also dishing out a few good shots of his own.
While Jack ascends the ranks of Underground Empire Wrestling, his dad has continued working as well. Luke has been busy filming CW's Riverdale, based on the...

If Luke Perry weren't interested in wrestling before, he is now. The 90210 alum, 50, attended a wrestling match Saturday to support his 19-year-old son Jack Perry, who also goes by "Jungle Boy" Nate Coy while wrestling for Underground Empire Wrestling. Footage of the match shows Luke sitting eagerly in the stands as his curly haired son tackles a competitor. At one point, a seemingly nervous Luke stands up to get closer to the ring. Proud papa Luke also filmed the entire match on his phone, even when his son was participating in some painful-looking slams. With Jack's lion mane hair and cat-like reflexes in the ring, it's no surprise why he would choose "Jungle Boy" as his...

With Spectre out in theaters, there has been no shortage of debate among Bond fans about where this entry lands in the series’ spectrum of quality, with some like PopOptiq’s own lead film critic J.R. Kinnard calling it “a glorious love letter to classic Bond”. To some this will sound like exactly what they want to hear, but after twenty-six movies (the Eon productions, along with 1967’s Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again), is an homage to classic formula the best way to close out what had seemed to be an attempt to genuinely take the franchise in a new direction during the Daniel Craig years? Tributes are for those who have no more to offer- those who soon will be gone, if they’re not already. Life and movie franchises are about pushing forward to stay alive; Spectre‘s safe retreat will only make regaining momentum that much more difficult.

While July 28th may be a light day in terms of the amount of horror and sci-fi titles making their home entertainment debuts, we do have an interesting assortment of films and TV to look forward to. Kino Lorber has dug up two classics—The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein and Cherry 2000 (starring Melanie Griffith)—which are being released on Blu-ray this Tuesday, and Scream Factory has another underrated genre gem getting the HD treatment as well—the horror western Ghost Town.

In the late 1960s and early 70s, few actors stood as tall in their heroic roles as Ron Ely.
From television’s Tarzan to the big screen’s Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, Ely’s 6-foot-4-inch muscular frame made the scenery cower when he stepped before a camera.
The 74-year-old actor stands just as tall today, commanding audiences with his tales of those golden days of pulp fiction on film. Warner Archive Collection has brought Ely’s best-loved roles back into the
spotlight, making the classic titles available on DVD and through its new live-streaming service, Warner Archive Instant.
Premiering on NBC in 1966, Edgar Rice Burroughs’ immortal creation, Tarzan, took to the nation’s TV screens for the first time. Still in the capable hands of producer Sy Weintraub, the TV Tarzan (the
aforementioned Mr. Ely) continued the more recent (and more authentic) interpretation of Lord Greystoke as a sophisticated,...
