Big Brother's Winston Showan will be the housemate in charge of the new 'Letters From Home' task.
Winston will be called to the Diary Room to decide which four housemates will receive letters from their loved ones.
With housemates divided into four pairs, Winston must choose which housemate's letter to save and which to delete from each duo.
Helen Wood will be paired with Mark Byron, Ash Harrison with Chris Wright, Pav Paul with Zoe Birkett, while Ashleigh Coyle has been put up against Christopher Hall.
The housemates will watch Winston decide on their fate from the sofa.
Winston, who was chosen by the public to lead the task, will automatically receive his letter from home.
Saved letters will be delivered to the winning housemates later this evening.
Big Brother continues tonight (July 28) at 10pm on Channel 5.

When we left things on Thursday, Amber and, via a technicality, Devin were Head of Household. And as we all know, lots and lots of power is sure to make Devin less annoying, right? Right? Click through and follow along for Sunday (July 6) night's "Big Brother." 8:01 p.m. Et. Odd that the pre-show recap ignored that Cody won Head of Household, but was booted for an infraction after a review. 8:03 p.m Oh. There it is. The episode begins with the disqualification. "That just makes my heart drop," Cody says, trying to deny wrongdoing, but saying he wished he'd taken his time on the balance beam. Devin apologizes to Cody, he's excited to see a picture of his daughter. Victoria is dreading what Devin's HoH will mean for the house, while Cody hopes his alliance-mate will be able to avoid going power-crazy. "I feel like Devin is just going to do crazy things,...

Each week, host Jeff Probst will answer a few questions about the latest episode of ‘Survivor: Cagayan.’
Entertainment Weekly: Tony has to be one of the most paranoid players you’ve encountered, right? But I wonder how the spy shack actually works. It always surprises me when a player is ostensibly hidden from sight (a la Tony) and other players (Trish and Jefra) come strolling along and there’s a camera guy just hanging out alone by the water well filming some random bush. How do you ensure the camera operator doesn’t spoil someone’s plot? Should or...

Look at the photo above. Notice anything? Well, beyond the absence of last night’s eliminated contestants — Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia — you should notice quite the gender disparity within the Top 9. Though Randy Jackson began the season in January by telling media outlets that he thought a female contestant would win American Idol, season 10′s girls have been dropping faster than a saved Casey Abrams. Though the girls slightly outnumbered the guys in the Top 13, we’ve since lost Ashthon Jones, Karen Rodriguez, and the aforementioned Naima and Thia, bringing the current total to six men and only three women.

We’re down to a dashing dozen, Idoloonies! 12. Karen Rodriguez (Last Week No. 11) | Hammy, pageant-style “Hero” during the semifinals didn’t mark her as a relevant radio star, but brutal Top 13 Selena cover took away her one strong suit — hitting her notes.

Last week I was poking around in the Mubi.com Forum, as I’m inclined to do whenever I’m curious to see what fellow cinephiles are chatting about at any given moment, when I happened to see this thread, titled March 7: Chantal Akerman. Though nothing much occurred in the thread, the synchronicity of my random discovery and my need for some kind of direction as to what Eclipse film I would review on March 14 was sufficient to lead me to this week’s choice. It’s je tu il elle, from Eclipse Series 19: Chantal Akerman in the Seventies.
I went into my viewing of je tu il elle (I You He She, for those of you still honing your basic French 101 skills) relatively blind to what I’d encounter. I knew a bit about Akerman’s work, mainly from last fall’s review of her New York...

Twelve shipwrecked guys are treading water amid a swarm of ravenous sharks, when suddenly, a luxury yacht pulls up alongside them. “Darling, your bathing suits are divine!” exclaims a glamorous actress, peering down from the deck. “Dude, your backstroke is bitchin’!” says the rock star alongside her. “Way to throw caution to the wind and do your thing, dawgs!” says their pal the music producer, sipping from a tall Coca-Cola glass. Welcome to the American Idol season 10 men’s semifinal — life boats not included!

On their marks! Get set! Go! [Cue the sound of a stalled car.]
America got its first official glimpse at the Top 12 men of season 10 Tuesday night (March 1) and things were as psychotically bipolar as a certain sitcom star currently making the rounds. (I'm looking at you, Emmanuel Lewis!)
For every exhilarating Casey Abrams, there was a soul-crushing disappointment of Sundance Head proportions. (Oh the humanity, Tim Halperin!) Still, a trio of final performances (and a couple others) kept the momentum of "Idol X: Lauren Alaina or Bust" going strong.
Before I start shamelessly plugging my brand new weekly live show, "Idol Party Live," premiering this Thursday night at 10pm Et on MTV.com (featuring fans, celebs and a grand karaoke finale), let's take a closer look at each of the first official performances of season 10. (Seriously though, don't miss "Idol Party Live." In a lovely sign of "Idol" blogger solidarity, Entertainment Weekly's whip-smart recapping superstar Annie...

And so the grand Idol wheel gains momentum, moving to the big stage. The top 12 men performed Tuesday (picking their own songs), with the top 12 women to sing on Wednesday. Out of them will come, on Thursday, the top 10, plus the judges' wild card picks. Let's just say there may have been ups and downs, but definitely no Sanjayas. This is a slick crowd! And most of them have arrived with their styles defined, and the judges inclined to praise - maybe overpraise? - the hopeful singers. Then again, how much does any of these three opinions influence viewer voting?...

Speed-dialers, start your engines! The voting portion of American Idol‘s tenth season is officially underway, and by Thursday night, brutal cuts will be hitting us in the face like dodgeballs in a middle-school gym. But let’s start with the good news: At least eight or nine of the singers we saw tonight from the top 12 male contestants would’ve easily been in contention for a spot on the Idol summer tour had they appeared in season 9. In fact, I’d only call one performance (Jordan Dorsey’s truly unfortunate “Omg”) a complete catastrophe. The bad news? Only the...

It's here! The moment has arrived! Finally we are going to see the "American Idol" contestants perform (pretty much) live and we get to start voting. Who ya got?
J.Lo is looking very chic for her first live show. Steven looks like he just stepped out of an Aerosmith concert next door and popped over to judge. Randy is the Man in Black.
There is a sign in the audience that says "Tourette's Rocks." If that sign-maker had really been thinking, the sign would read "Tourette's [expletive, expletive] Rocks."
Ryan kind of clears things up about the process at this point by saying that after tonight and tomorrow, the Top 5 guys and Top 5 girls advance, then the judges get to choose Wild Cards - presumably a couple of each gender? Since we are 11 or 12 weeks from the finale? Start with 14 finalists, that gets you through 12 weeks leaving two standing at the end.

"American Idol's" Top 24 is finally underway and as we've said before, we think it's their most talentes group of contestants ever.
The Top 12 boys took the stage on Friday, Feb. 25, in front of an audience of 700 people, which will air tonight, Tuesday, Mar. 1. Zap2it was at the taping and while we won't tell you any of the judges' comments pertaining to a specific contestant (we don't want to spoil all the fun), but here are a few things to know: Whenever the judges are divided, it's always Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez vs. Randy Jackson, who seems to be taking over for Simon Cowell as the "mean judge."
The contestants who got the loudest applause were Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams (who performed despite being hospitalized for stomach issues, something the show really didn't focus on), James Durbin and Scotty McCreery. No one totally choked and forgot the lyrics or anything,...

For some "American Idol" fans, the competition doesn't really enter must-watch territory until the decision-making is turned over to the teeming masses and their texting, phone-calling and — new this year — online-voting power. Luckily for those holdouts, that portion of the show began Tuesday (March 1), when the top 12 guys took the stage and performed in front of a live audience for the first time this season.
As is custom with "Idol" performance nights, there were several questionable song choices. (We're looking at you, Jordan Dorsey, who unsuccessfully channeled Usher via "Omg," and Tim Halperin doing a lackluster cover of Rob Thomas' "Come on Over.") There were also predictable ones, namely country crooner Scotty McCreery sticking to what he knows with "Letters From Home...

By the time the top 12 men on "American Idol" make it to the big stage, it's usually pretty easy to tell who is in it to win it and who will be going home after one week in the IdolDome.
And Tuesday night (March 1) was no exception, with some of this season's standouts proving again that they have their eye on the prize. While Casey Abrams and Jacob Lusk soared, James Durbin brought the rock thunder and Scotty McCreery did his country thing, dawg.
And, for the first time in "Idol" history, fans could also vote online for their favorite singer.
