MUDDLED AND QUASI-PROFOUND
J. Steed28 May 1999
Muddled and incomprehensible drama with cinematography that is repeatedly below the mark. Herbert Knaup thinks that a war photographer with a guilty conscience walks and looks like a zombie; UN troops and helicopters constantly fill the image for no apparent reason; the photographer becomes a sniper himself - or not, there is no way of finding out; and a there is a lot of action that have nothing to do with the subject. All this leaves the viewer in the end in complete bewilderment and asking himself: what did I miss and were the makers covering up a bad film by giving it a quasi-profoundness? Save your time and take up photographing yourself.
